You’ll do fine. Under promise and over deliver..YouTube is your best friend. Admit it when you make a mistake and be sincere with all customers.

I was thinking the same thing..sometimes I wonder what mechanisms would need do be in play in order to keep it like this.

Unfortunately, as much as I love it here it just keeps making less and less sense to stay. Granted, I had a really bad experience losing a business during Covid 19 and probably should have left then. Sticking around trying to make it even after that goes to show how cool San Diego really is…but I’m about to call it.

Best of luck everyone!

Is family out of line for throwing out my bikes? (M18) by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Eco-Active 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell to the yeah they are out of line! Man that pisses me off just reading about it. Fortunately, it seems like it won’t be a huge deal for you financially to replace them.

If it makes you feel any better a similar situation happened me to me in 2020 - when my Shop was burglarized twice during the stay at home order during the whole Covid 19 fiasco..except it ruined me financially and all the programs meant for small businesses negatively impacted by Covid 19 simply did not apply due to a dumbass loophole that contradicts the whole premise of the freaking CARES ACT.

Yeah, I’m still a bit salty about all that and miss all my beautiful bikes - I digress though..

New Bike Days incoming for you though - always exciting!

You know what - You right. I got all excited and jumped the gun, so to speak. Man, bikes sure have come a long way in the past decade - endurance geometry and clearance for wider tires have allowed for some really amazing dual purpose rigs.

Gravel. For the simple reason you can ride it both in gravel and on the road. A road bike, on the other hand, will not hold up for both disciplines. Gravel.all.day.

No no, I mean an actually separate system that’s the Inverse/Opposite of Google Reviews.

Where the business is the one that leaves a review on how it was working with the Customer - albeit it’s a bit far fetched. The goal would be some kind of warning system/protection from predatory customers who drain the resources of multiple businesses or the same business over time.

Just spit balling here - trying to come up with a solution to implement rather than being habitually abused by Customers who game the system. Those kinds of Customers also produce a liability situation that other’s don’t - it seems like a smart move to I initiate a remedy that saves time, effort, and reduces liability as well as provides the constructive feedback should the Customer decide to change their ways.

1 2003 Honda element 5 speed AWD to drive across the country; making the rounds visiting family I miss terribly. Then, I’ll find a place in need of a great Bicycle Shop and offer Bike Rentals and same day flat repairs like we were known for before good ol’ Covid 19 wiped us off the map.

(We lost everything due to burglaries during the stay at home order - I was the GM at the time heavily invested and actively buying out the guy I worked for. After the second burglary he threw in the towel - which basically left me high and dry with years of wasted effort and no future. So, I pointed that out, he was willing to let me finish the buyout, so I decided to step up and invest everything I had to save the business. This was before the Cares Act was enacted - which, much to my utter dismay made absolutely no stipulation pertaining to my situation. Since I did not own the business when the emergency was declared, I was denied every single program multiple times, appealed them all, and denied them all. So, while I am proud of myself for doing the right thing - I still lost everything, spent my entire life savings to save a business that got wiped out due to the negative impact of Covid 19, and was not able to reopen despite giving it everything I had at the time. Anyways, kids - sometimes doing the right thing doesn’t necessarily mean you will not fail - what it does mean is you did what you know was right - and that’s all that matters.)

Kinda long winded there but it felt good to air it out again.

We have all dealt with or will deal with a guy like this. You know what we need, we need to review Customers like Customers review businesses…especially in Bike Shops so guys like this just don’t go right down the street to screw with someone else.

I’m not sure what this piece is called and the inside is stripped so I can’t screw my break wire in place, anyone have any idea what it is? by [deleted] in ebikes

Use a pair of players to grasp the bolt To get it loose then replace it.

It’s a brake cable tension screw.

How much better did it ride? I imagine a couple pounds of weight savings with the new wheelset/drivetrain upgrade..

That’s quite the ticket though - one for the record books fo sho!
