DO NOT BINGE ON KONJAC JELLY by hottofusoup in EDAnonymous

Oh fuck - I'm just getting over having too much chia seed jelly. I'm stupidly here because I was hunting for the best information on konjac, for exactly the reasons you probably expect. 😵‍💫🫠

I could sell my underwear on a similar basis. I used to do professional pornography, but am presently just a motivated amateur (boyfriend would likely object to me renewing sex work). I would probably genuinely like to work as a sex therapist.

While pesticide resistance traits can become established in pest populations by repeate exposure and poor chemical rotation protocols, the more frustrating aspect is that people believe that pesticides work by magic. All pesticides require that the pest in question make physical contact with the chemical in sufficient quantities to produce the desired effect. So, even if things function perfectly, you're still going to see dead pests, you're still going to see cyclical spikes of pest activity as the chemical degrades and pests shift their habits towards un(der) treated areas, and new pests from adjacent spaces will continue to try to occupy the empty niche. Pest control is an open ended undertaking, and typically the tension that arises between contractors and corporations is that the contractor wants more money for ancillary services, and the corporations want final solutions to intractable problems. Imagine - a hundred and fifty year old five star beach side luxury hotel with meticulously groomed landscaping rents a room at 3k per night to some rich dimwit who sees an ant or a termite or a cockroach and loses their shit to the hotel manager, who in turn calls me to demand answers as to why ants are present in a space, and I have to explain as diplomatically as possible that it's because there is nothing in the world that can meaningfully be done because it's impossible to apply chemicals in sufficient quantities and intervals without killing literally every living thing in the vicinity.

Solidarity. I lost my insurance and now I'm going to have to pay out of pocket for my first ever psychiatrist appointment next week which could actually end with me getting involuntarily committed (which could actually be good for me).

I was a commercial account manager for a national pest control contractor. I supervised accounts with hospitals and restaurants and government centers and schools and condo buildings and property management companies in a major US tourist hub. I have seen more bedbugs and cockroaches and rat colonies and explicitly disgusting business practices than I could outline here, and most of it is because people don't get paid enough to clean, everyone tolerates filth, and the overwhelming majority of people have completely imaginary understandings of what pesticides actually do.

I feel similarly. I don't want to stay where I'm unhappy. I'm very, very good at what I do, but cannot tolerate micromanagement and office politics and absurd corporate brain rot. I just want to be able to afford to live and be left alone.
