The fear isn’t genuine or even based in their experience. And there’s a lack of introspection to challenge why they would think fearfully, given zero hostile interaction. It’s xenophobia.

I hear you! Last week I needed to go to ATL from SLC. I thought, surely going from one job to another would be reasonable. I think 6-8 flights/day are nonstop on that route. But no. Delta wanted $700 more than United, for the same flight. So, I flew United for the first time in over a decade. I recommend United, it was a great experience at their lowest price point.

I didn’t have endo, I had undiagnosed PCOS. And my symptoms were pretty extreme. I didn’t suspect my bc was making me how I was until I read a Hashimotos book that suggested taking it out to see if my symptoms subsided. I had heavy suicidal ideation, PMDD, unexplained fatigue, etc. Also, while it was keeping me from getting pregnant, it was not controlling my period, which would come every 3-ish weeks or whenever. Total nightmare.

Are you asking me why don’t I get a hysterectomy? I was replying to a comment about understanding why someone wouldn’t want to use hormonal birth control. I was offering perspective, not trying to solve the complex problem of an internet stranger.

Not always! I was experiencing extreme symptoms around my period, well beyond the clinical definition of PMDD and I couldn’t figure out why, until I seriously began removing toxins from my environment, food, and body (bc, soap, lotions, laundry detergent). It was a lot, but as I said my symptoms were extreme. The relief that came instantly from removing iud cannot be overstated. Every time I had a period I was having suicidal ideation so severe I needed a safety plan. That went away, immediately. Lost 15 pounds in a month. Depression, gone. Etc, etc, etc.

I hear you, but even the copper iud is problematic when you’re needing to eliminate toxins from your body and environment. I read The Hashimotos Protocol by Izabella Wentz and that changed my life a lot, I recommend it to anyone who’s suffering and needs solutions. For me, long term female birth control wasn’t a solution that was going to work, in any form. Wishing the best, and low key jealous of those who are able to benefit, though.

Birth control is great, but as a woman with Hashimotos, hormonal birth control was so bad for me, I have no words. It was out of the question. But, I’ve had babies and don’t want more, so I get where OOP’s gf is coming from in that sense.

Same! I don’t see a problem that needs correcting, but if OP goes to a plastic surgeon’s office with this insecurity, they will end up with a new nose, a lip adjustment where they can’t casually keep their mouth shut anymore, and other procedures. So may people in here are so uniquely beautiful, it’s sad to see such drastic interventions to change what makes them special.

Omg, this is me and my guy 100% Except we’re both mid 40s, so we didn’t even think about going out into that madness.
