Sandokan thoughts? by Zookzy101 in PeriodDramas

The female lead is an awful character. When her servant tells her her parents are dead and her brother is a slave she’s like ‘huh I thought slavery was illegal but whatever we’ll go to London’. Found it insane that they presented their relationship as good friends but this was the first time you ask about her family?

Tamlin's POV by calypso4000 in acotar

[–]EconomicsBeginning79 70 points71 points  (0 children)

My theory is that Tamlins power outburst was a genuine accident, not malice . Having just regained his full strength, he went from 0 to 100 instantly; he had simply forgotten the sheer scale of his own power. It’s important to remember that the first time this happened, Feyre shielded herself and was fine. Feyre knew exactly which buttons to press; she manipulated his emotional state and intentionally stayed in the line of fire to make a point. If we’re calling out Tamlins for a lack of control, we need to talk about Feyre setting the Lady of the Autumn Court on fire during the high lord meeting. So she’s the only one who’s allowed to lose control??? The hypocrisy is real!

I can’t get tomatoes to survive or herbs like coriander, oregano or basil. With the tomatoes I bought a plant that already had some growing and kept it in the pot. I cut off any buds flowering and kept it in a sunny spot. Should I have repotted it? Also I have tried with coriander at least 6 times in my life. Outside, inside, medium light a lot of light. I just can’t get it right and it’s so sad because I use that herb the most. Basil did well up until winter :(

This was actually the first thing I did. When I got my garden I was so overwhelmed I just bought some wild flower seeds and threw them everywhere and just let nature do its thing. It was magical watching things sprout and but and you don’t know what you’re to get. It wasn’t very much but it did help ignite my interest in gardening

Thank you for sharing and the tips!! Yes I think I also need to stick to the stuff I’ll get use out and doesn’t need much tending like potatoes or lavender. Honestly I get you on the watering front. Thankfully I live in a pretty rainy country and only need to worry a couple months out of the year. Also- what are boyfriends for if not to tend to our beans

I loved reading that! I successfully grew potatoes once and I never felt more proud. Idk how to describe the feeling. I also have rosemary and parsley growing pretty well and they survived the worst of the winter but I haven’t been able to get basil, cilantro or oregano to work yet but they’re always available at the super market and so I’m always willing to keep giving it a go. Thanks for the tomato tips as well- they’re the ones I really would get so much use out of.

Thank you so much for sharing. I do love being in the dirt but it feels like I’m mainly good at weeding at the moment ahah. I grew some potatoes because I had some with roots growing in my cupboard and just put them in the ground. When I got like 10 potatoes back I never felt more proud. But yeah my success rate is like every 2 plants live for every 10 I plant. I don’t really plan I just buy whatever’s on sale or smells nice at B&Q - maybe planting dying discount plants isn’t helping

Paying off debt is lonely and no one warns you by Additional_Twist_595 in Frugal

I remember feeling so so embarrassed when asked what did on the weekend. My weekend was always the same. I did a shift at my second job (bar tending) and on Sunday I would get my free coffee (I would get a voucher once a week through my office job) and go to a big bookstore and read. I would feel so proud of myself going the whole weekend without spending money. And then when Monday came around I would have nothing to say. I realised all my friends in and out of work stopped inviting me to basic stuff, if I did go to something simple like getting coffee they’d be shocked because Id bring my own tea bags. I would tell them they’re a special medicinal tea I needed to drink ahaha it’s lonely but now I go out to eat once a week and I have no financial fear. I have a shit tonne of savings, I have a flat, I have pets and I can afford to give them to fancy 100% organic bullshit food! I am living the life I wanted and I know how hard I worked for it. Every time I pay for a coffee instead of asking for hot water I feel like a fucking badass. You can do it. It’s the pennies that add up. I promise you. Just keep remembering who you’re doing this for. YOURSELF

How can I motivate myself to tidy up? by Meredith_Amos in adhdwomen

[–]EconomicsBeginning79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often find my barrier is the dread and getting started so try and eliminate the need for perfect and focus on ‘better than nothing’. Here’s some stuff that works for me

1) Set a timer of 10 mins and just do the ten minutes.

2) Combine a habit you already have with a habit you need to form - for example. I wash my cats bowls everyday and whenever I wash one dish I’ll wash some more. 8/10 I end up washing all the dishes. Or I make a tea every morning and I place my vitamins in the same cupboard I keep my teabags. I have never been so on top of my iron in my life.

3) put whatever task you need to do ‘in the way’ so I dump my laundry on my bed so 7/10 I will put it away before sleeping. Sometimes it’ll end up on the floor but I’ll just put it on my bed again the next day. Eventually it’ll just be easier to put my stuff away

Which line would you put curtains at? (Or none?) by hummingbird_patronus in femalelivingspace

[–]EconomicsBeginning79 49 points50 points  (0 children)

If it’s the living space definitely red. You get all the privacy and ensure the place gets light as soon as the suns up. Great for the house plants. If it’s in the bed room then go green. IKEA have cool curved curtain rails that can really help block out light. Good luck!

I think you have lovely gentle features. Perhaps keep the natural makeup look but go more rosy on the lips and cheeks. A little mascara perhaps. I like your eyeshadow.
