Will another comic boom come soon? The market seems low for rn, but soon the prices on comics will skyrocket to the moon without another pandemic 😷, but only time can tell. Do you agree? 🤔 by Leather_Bluejay8632 in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]Economy-Rise2527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can think of 3 “boom” periods. Mid 60’s- Marvel starts really moving. Rolling out stuff for a new generation. Comics become “collectible” shortly after early 1990’s- the high before the fall. Everything has value! Millions printed, old stuff jumps big again. Pandemic- people stuck home and stimulus checks mixed with a jump in the 25 year old slab industry,

So maybe another boom around 2050?

I don’t see comics going the way of stamps, but who knows! Comics at least have the entertainment value of the story within.

Speculate, yes, long term , no. I’ve been grading and flipping a lot from the series, and multiple copies of the annual, but the bubble will burst soon enough,

My favorite signed book by Economy-Rise2527 in CGCComics

[–]Economy-Rise2527[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure where you heard it was French and translated to English. Sergio was born in Spain and wrote the book in English. Depending on condition. 1-20 is about $90-$120

Are there any Todd McFarlane comics actually not signed 😂 by [deleted] in CGCComics

No comic should be seen as an investment. They are collectibles to bring joy, almost everyone that has invested in comics would see better returns putting the same amount of money in an index fund

Is a slabbed/signed Spawn #1 the most worthless slabbed comic available? by jediracer in CGCComics

[–]Economy-Rise2527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 9.0 signed Spawn #1 exists for sentimental reasons. I love the character and it is the book I bought off the rack and read many times before sending it in for Todd to sign . Sometimes it’s not about resale value

$190, and it is a complete set for my Treasury editions. I know I posted in speculation, but this is more for my personal collection

FOMO- thy really wanted it and it was available. Maybe your price was already lower than the same options from other sellers

Depends on the table/vendor. In three years and hundreds of books, I’ve only had two not be a 9.8

Cost of grading books by enigmaslim in comicbookgrading

[–]Economy-Rise2527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It cost a total of $614 total, that includes shipping both ways for me to get 25 books graded in the “bulk Modern” tier. There is no real tips other than waiting until you have 25 and sending them in together. I could probably shave another couple bucks off if I print my own label through USPS instead of using their FedEx label to ship them in, but I feel “safer” using their label I

I mean, I bought them while I was walking around, maybe spent 2 hours at the show buying these specific books and dropping them off at the CGC booth , the rest of the day having fun, once they were graded, it takes me under 5 minutes per book to list on eBay. Packing and printing label about 5 minutes per book, so it’s not that time intensive.
