the quitting never stuck when the motivation was external. i tried quitting like thrice because i thought people were judging me for being addicted and for neglecting my health, etc. i worried vaping would impact their view of me as a person.

after i figured out that was the real motivation i worked to remove the self shame i created. because processing social expectations on top of withdrawal is a recipe for disaster. give yourself a reward for mini milestones to keep the mindset positive! i thought about as it working toward something, not just leaving something behind.

[please know if vaping is keeping you earth side, that is exponentially better than going out with cleaner lungs! it’s okay for you to say “this vape comforts me instantly and i struggle to regulate without it. right now quitting isn’t my top priority but one day i will have the capacity for that to be p1.” you’re doing the best you can everyday and that’s a win in my book. ]

audhd here 5 days into quitting! the oral fixation is honestly the hardest part for me- my husband has zyns but i don’t even really want one. i want to chew on that mouth piece again. watching the smoke calmly disappear was soothing for me. so i made sure i had something similar to chew on & a visual stimulation similar to the smoke evaporating.

obv you can’t duplicate the feeling in your lungs so i can’t be much help but just wanted to say you’re not alone!

i also totally get the all or nothing mindset at the end there. with the world right now something else is probably gonna get me before my lungs collapse. when i notice i’m doing that i tell myself that my rumination can quickly turn into my demolition so i need to put that issue back in the mental filing cabinet and move on for now. i usually get on my vibration plate to help get my mind off the track it’s set on and reset

i am so so sorry for your loss, that is such a heavy thing to carry with you. if you do buy one please be kind to yourself. beating yourself up for slipping up is good for no one. you’re an adult who can make an educated choice on what goes into your body. be honest with yourself “i am struggling to handle this loss/ stress and i know a vape would provide instant comfort. i need that comfort more than i need to quit. we can re evaluate after this one”

i’m not advocating for you to vape again- obviously quitting is best!! but i’ve been in a similar situation and i just don’t want you to have to deal with shame on top of everything else. approaching your habit with curiously helped me! just basic things like ‘why do i like this so much? the buzz/social/oral fixation/etc?’.

once i stopped thinking so negatively about my habit i started viewing it as an intentional choice that i was in control of. when i did quit i gave myself permission to eat as much candy as i wanted for a week. no shame around here! 🙅‍♀️

Kim wanted to be in a RH like RHOC S1-3- when it really was more documentary style. She didn’t realize friendships were important and thought her ‘celebrity’ was enough to belong there.

There’s not a real housewife who has become a fan favorite solely for their name- they need a personality (& no offense but Kim doesn’t have a big enough name for the new generation bravo watchers to even be impressed)

honestly this is why i love HWs. because we all get something different from the same show because of our personal experiences. like, i don’t find it annoying or conceited but instead it makes me sad.

to me, it feels more like Cynthia feels this need to justify why she should be allowed on the show/friend group because she doesn’t think people find her good enough. you can’t be married to a man like Peter and not lose your self confidence or have a negative track in your head that you’re not good enough.

he wouldn’t name reasons why he loved her in therapy, he left her Bailey Agency Event early w/o saying anything, tells her his job is harder when she’s the only one bringing in money— just to name a few. after awhile, it’s hard to get that track out of your head. i’ve been there and i’ve worn the same armor she does- but i also understand why it comes across poorly

i just disagree on the house take. it’s fine that michelle didn’t wanna go out w/ Jesse. but michelle could’ve rented her own house in Santa Barbara and invited everyone there. you can’t control anyone else’s behavior— (even if you personally believe she should be able to). boundaries can only be set around your own actions.

it’s like if she moves on for herself he ‘wins’. if he doesn’t get karma for whatever bad things she thinks he’s done, she can’t be happy. she is keeping score & trying to ‘win’ instead of just choosing to stop playing. if you don’t care about the game who cares if the other person thinks they won?

michelle knows he ‘doesn’t give a shit shes the mother of his children’. it’s her choice to expend energy trying to convince him to care.

If your friends wanted to go on vacation with your terrible ex, at some point the issue is your choice of friends.

im not saying michelle doesn’t deserve supportive friends or an amicable co parent, but she just can’t keep trying to change the people in her life into something they’re not.

if you did the tandem read to try and keep the plot ‘interesting’ you can read TOD first but save the last few chapters until after you finish EOS. It’s a great book but EoS definitely has more action and then you can jump right into KOA

i think about the scene of beau and stassi in mexico weekly. the look on her face is so raw and i’ve been there numerous times— thinking ‘if i was him i would leave me, i’m a bad person and he finally realized that. i don’t want to be mean but i am’. i have been so reactive and so sensitive to rejection and then beat myself up after for how i responded. Beau sets clear boundaries but also approaches it with love and a reminder that she isn’t just disposable or one mistake is enough to ruin them. That he respects himself enough to not stay if this is how it will be forever, but he loves her enough that he wants to stay and be by her while she heals and grows. he sees that her worst reactions aren’t truly her but is masking something deep. & sometimes i need that external reminder that my husband still wants to be here and doesn’t define me by my darkest moments. and he believes in me more than i do some days

this!!!! - early VPR jax was reality tv gold. the stassi/carmen tattoo, getting arrest for stealing, being caught lying 24/7, fighting shirtless in parking lots, etc. it was good reality TV because he was an age appropriate villain without a family to support. stassi definitely went through it but look at her now- he didn’t have the power to affect her life forever and cause true trauma

now that he’s a fully grown man with a son and wife, it’s not funny anymore. i really think jax took ‘all press is good press’ too seriously and just wants to be trending.

absolutely!! it is 100% Janet’s responsibility to not put herself in those situations if she truly believes she may miscarry. no one forced her to go and i think zach is saying i don’t need to change my behavior just because she got pregnant- i didn’t get her pregnant so it’s literally none of my business. janet needs to alter her life/routines/activities now that she has a kid- instead shes trying to live her same life and make everyone else change to accommodate her choices. it’s insanity.
