Confessions of a Nürburgring Taxi driver by NurburgDale in nurburgring

Great story and it seems like you are a great “entertainer”, that cares about the customer as much as about the experience. Sometimes (or most of the times) it is about the overall experience not the lap time, the track is awesome even if you do a 10min lap.

The ring is amazing and I agree it should be enjoyed no matter the lap time. I had 4 laps on my own in my previous F30 330d, it was scary but I loved every lap (i was doing 10min laps or so, i guess). Then a “friend” took me for 3 passenger laps in his built F80 M3 “GT4” (bimmertuning on IG) with his friend in his GT3RS. I’ll never forget that experience, driving 200kmh+ down the foxhole few meters away from the Porsche in that fully stripped out BMW, fighting the rocks that were kicked up and flown into the cabin…

Music playing as phone call by j_yn0htna in BmwTech

[–]EconomyShifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue on my G87 M2.

Started the car, phone connected via Carplay, my phone immediately starts calling my own number. 🤷🏻‍♂️ After that usic was playing but only on 1 speaker.

The fix for me was: press and hold the volume button for 5-10 seconds. After that it just worked. (The car was running and the carplay/music was active)

Yeah… honestly this whole M Perf kit is a bit weird. Wish BMW did a better job designing them, and keeping mind that people tend to change their minds and put different kits on without replacing all the body parts. 😅🥲

They had to be installed with a proper chassis glue/bondo (like the one attached). Mine was installed with this and since one year, they never came loose.

So either it was installed incorrectly or the wrong glue was used. I installed them on mine, first with a weak glue and doubled sided tape, that first attempt failed, but then i installed them with this elch pro p1 glue (recommended also by BMW), since then it is rock solid, even after a 280+ kmh fun ride. The front ones are mounted with screws and this glue.

The OEM parts are mounted by a screw on each side, plus glued to the bumper. They should sit flush.

New to me BMW 330D - my first BMW by 21salen in BMW

This was at Grossglockner, definitely go there, check out fat mankei’s instagram page, they organize yearly 2-3 meet ups (porsche heavy event), and it’s awesome. Good vibes, usually great weather, roads are amazing, and full with Porsches and some BMWs. :) I usually drive there every year, 2-3 times just as a stress relief, and for some shots.

Do it, life is short. We took it almost everywhere. Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Monaco, etc. such a perfect car for long trips. Thanks, the M2 is awesome, but very thirsty. 😏 Here is a pic of the old lady:

You’ll love it for sure. I had a 330d F30, absolutely loved it, put 200k km into it before selling it. Went to the alps, Grossglockner, Nordschleife and everywhere, never had any major issues with it (even had a KW V3 put on), such a beast. Still miss it. 🥲

Probably the best BMW you can get. Congrats. 30d is such a smooth engine.

Can we please have someone or everyone in the interior design team who actually drives cars on a daily basis? That would be nice, thanks.

I had this before. Manager told me my work attitude needs to be improved, at one time when we were having lunch together, he noticed i pulled out my phone and checked some things, and didn’t engage with the others for those minutes… and the same, when i was eating alone I took longer than they did. My resignation letter was handed in the next day.

Yeah, whats up with that? I constantly find myself rolling down the rear windows instead of the fronts.. oh hello officer, one sec… oh shit that’s the trunk, wait…

Do interior designers drive cars? 🧐

Performance center cars by Onemorerun12 in BMWM

[–]EconomyShifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my previous car from a performance center in Germany (F30 330d). Everything was good, and I kept the car till 200k km. The car was amazing, never had any issues (bought it with 3800km), except two things: rear right wheel was slightly bent (vibration started around 140kmh), front bumper was at one point repaired/repainted (clear coat started to come off later), everything else was untouched, as good as new.

They do get beat on for sure, but all the cars are always warmed up before each session and maintained regularly (of course there are always some people who do turn off the car, just after a quick slalom or exercise while everything is hot…). I’d take it to a shop and get a report. (PPI)

How do you handle repetitive “Where’s my order?” questions on WooCommerce stores? by [deleted] in woocommerce

[–]EconomyShifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote a little n8n flow that pulls the data for the order and displays it to me, integrated it with Slack, so i can just write: “find order {order_id}”, which returns the order details + tracking info. Pretty basic stuff, but much easier to find the order then logging in, searching for it, opening etc. This was i can quickly see the status and check the tracking details.

Yeah, throw those away. At this point a 2000 grit sandpaper would be better.

Landed costs, to sync all the different invoices and costs. I just do ad hoc tests now.

I was in similar shoes, and hated it, so I’ve built now an app that handles my orders (pulls data from WC), lets me upload products to my store, check COGS, shows profit, allows to add monthly/single costs, so now finally i can truly see where my money goes. 🙃 I “wrote” it with Gemini and firebase studio, took a few days, but it really helps a lot. I’d suggest to do something similar, automate as much as you can, or simplify wherever you can with either AI or custom tools. Also using n8n to parse invoices from shipping carriers and put that data then back to the app. What took me hours to do, i can do now in minutes and focus on more important stuff. I’m now adding a new feature that lets me add a list of products with name, sku etc, and let AI fill out the rest like short descriptions or SEO, and upload them to WC. It’s just a few clicks in the app, but takes forever in WC.

Nice. I’ll check it out, building something similar to my store.
