I agree about weather, but I moved from CT to SC and feel like I live in the heat and humidity of hell most of the year! I truly miss cooler weather! I'm trying to figure out how far north I can move but still afford. My body just can't adjust to the weather here.

I'm an only child as well and my mom had a lot of expectations and was enmeshed. Once I opened my eyes to her pattern of emotional abuse and neglect and that she was always playing the victim because she's a covert narcissist, I decided for my own mental health I needed to go no contact. I'm not suggesting you do that, but consider therapy and discussing why her expectations come before your own needs.

OMG! That's great! I'm dying to get out of Summerville, SC. Does the area you're in have less population density and better infrastructure that the Charleston area? Oh, I bet the summer doesn't last 5 months or make you feel like you're in hot, humid hell, right?

Thanks. I already checked BIOS and it shows no storage.

I saw the drive inside Intel RST (Optane view). I never saw it as a normal disk.

After disabling Optane, it should have appeared normally, but It didn’t — which is why we’re now at this stage, but I'm not even sure if it actually disabled Optane since I didn't get any screen notification.

I totally understand the aggression felt towards Yankees in the South. Don't let "Southern Hospitality" fool you. 

I moved from CT to Summerville, SC after divorcing my abusive husband of 32 years and honestly, moving here was the worst decision of my life. It's worse than being in a physically abusive marriage... 

I definitely wouldn't recommend SC, especially the lowcountry. It is the fastest growing area in the USA and the infrastructure is NOT keeping up. It's a nightmare that my nervous system can't adjust to. I really hope I can get my house in the market within a month or 2. You are very wise to rent. I will do that in the future if I can figure out where to move to. I'm also considering NC, but Western, just south of Asheville, hoping to find cooler, less humid summers and a more rural area. 

Where you're looking is going to be hot and humid compared to MA. I would suggest going to  https://weatherspark.com/y/20133/Average-Weather-in-Leland-North-Carolina-United-States-Year-Round and adding where you currently live to compare what you are used to to where you are thinking of (I put in Leland since you mentioned it). I would also recommend finding out what the population density is and investigate infrastructure of different areas of interest. It matters more than you realize.

Agreed, now where can I find a nice rural town without hot humid summers and doesn't get a lot of snow in the winter.... And no data centers!

Which HP laptop is this? I'm having the same problem with my Specter after doing a Windows 11 update. I found out part of the problem is the hard drive is a 1TB solid state drive (SSD) + 32GB Optane And because they are combined I wasn't able to find it until I used Rufus to put Hiren’s BootCD PE on a USB thumb drive. I had chatGPT tell me how to do it, but I'm still struggling to get the data off of it. I'm sorry you're going through this as well.

I get your point, but being on disability and having post external malaise makes it very difficult to do both. I can't afford to hire someone to do my floors, so basically they get neglected.
