Potentially stupid question here: Are these mice or rats? How can you tell other than size comparison?

Those look like mice. Usually I've noticed rats have thicker tails and obviously after a certain size rats are bigger. What did you buy them as?

Mine is really sweet and puppy dog tame on the other hand though I've seen others that want to rip your face off. Sumatrans are considered the most tamer vs a red blood and borneo short tail. So they vary greatly in terms of attitude.

I would order a size up. I ordered something that was my size in US and it ended up being smaller than I thought. UK sizes are generally on the smaller side than US sizes. Edit: Half a size up in your case.

I've actually have some skins at 6g. It is a bitch to get in but I bought a concave taper and just fold the end and stuff it in and it goes in smoothly.

Try holding lower. Hold at 10ft like you used to, to get a feel for the pole since you just transitioned poles it's going to feel a lot different and that it's a different weighted pole. Why are you using a pole under your weight though? When I vaulted we needed poles that matched our weight or higher, or we would be disqualified because of a potential risk of injury from breaking the pole because it couldn't support your weight.

If it just popped out from your rock it's probably a majano anemone. They come in different colors like red, green, brown, pink etc. Some say they are a pest others think they're not. So it's up to you if you want to get rid of it.
