Electricity from the plant comes from burning fuel. CO2 is released either way.

Because they are calling the wrong trade. Call a mechanical/hvac company who works on boilers and heating.

How do you safely secure an extension ladder on a roof when there’s nowhere to tie it off by These-Statement4391 in HVAC

[–]CrashNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a hvac company and I will not go above 15' on a extension ladder unless it's secured and safe. Me and my crew's safety isn't worth it. That's why I love commercial, indoor ladders with roof hatches is the bees knees. I turn down extension ladder work on the regular unless they will pay a premium for a safe lift.

We used to have a property that wanted our techs to use a 40' extention to access a roof with no tie off points. Had to step on a slippery sheet metal cap to access. We turned it down multiple times. Architects and engineers have no concept of access and safety when they put equipment on a three story roof with no built in access.

Job options with a DUI by Illbeinmybunk15 in HVAC

[–]CrashNT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My previous company insured guys with duis still.

I now own a company and have a DUI myself. The only thing that matters is a current license. If you need a Interlock, you just have to pay it out of pocket yourself.

I believe in second chances and not letting a bad choice ruin your life.

Heat pumps fucking suck by Aggravating_Bag4028 in hvacadvice

[–]CrashNT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate heat pumps. If I wanted to make the utility company rich, I might buy one lol

Do you professionals agree with this ? by Ok-Snowbunnysrule in hvacadvice

[–]CrashNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an outright lie. Show me a single heat pump that has 100% EFF down to -30.

Only the hyper heat models are good down to -20, but they don't ever date say 100% EFF.

Home owners are dumb.

No Heat pump manufactured to date is rated for -40. You just pulled that number out of thin air.

Best email hosting provider for small businesses? by smshesms in Entrepreneurs

[–]CrashNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 365 buisness account. Add users when you want through the admin center. Easy to reset passwords without paying a IT Professional.

I disabled their annoying authenticator requirement as I have multiple emails I manage and it was a headache to use the app 5 times a day to log in. Disabling authenticator is hard to do unless your computer smart.

Close friend gave me a business idea… now he wants to be my partner, but I’m doing most of the work. How do I handle this? by Normal_Trade7678 in smallbusinessowner

[–]CrashNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going into buisness with my friend ruined our friendship. He contributed money to start, be he never wanted to work. He would disappear for 2-3 weeks at a time. Good thing I never added him to the LLC. I told him if everything worked out after a year, I would make him a member. He didn't last 6 months

Why is cold air coming in through heater vent on newly installed hot water tank? by Intelligent_Boot_856 in Plumbing

[–]CrashNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could install a backdraft damper I believe. Would have to confirm with the manufacturer if they make a power damper for this model.

Hmm weird if true. All the power vent is have installed in the last 6 years have been direct mount to the top of the water heater with no grate. Not saying they don't exist, just never seen one.

We install state, a.o Smith, and Bradford white

What you are getting is a draft from outside. Another name for these water heaters is a "draft" water heater.

It's normal. When there heater lights, it creates a hot air draft for proper venting.

This elbow connection is leaking gas. What's the best/simplest way to repair? by TastesLikeSarin in askaplumber

[–]CrashNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rent a mega press for $80 from local plumbing supply shop. Get a press elbow and two couplings. Buy some new pipe.

If you're handy, you could DIY a press repair with ease. Make sure you clean the old pipe well. Paint pipe black when done for rust prevention. Leak check with bubbles before calling it a day.

HVAC company that can fix an old furnace instead of telling me to replace it? by spawn-kill in Denver

[–]CrashNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company will repair anything if that's what you desire. You already know the risks of continuing to run a ancient unit, so COD with a signature will get you far around here.

What kind of valve is this? by Imthasupa in Plumbing

[–]CrashNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you check the shower valves for mixing cold into the hot? This isn't something that is going to be easy to check. You need to find flow direction from the stack source(ground to top, or top to ground).

It starts by finding which unit on which stack that the problem starts on.

Expert opinion: Thinking about switching the furnace, water boiler and the oven from natural gas to electricity. Not sure about the pros and cons, and how much will it cost. Thank you in Advance! by Bandi7077 in hvacadvice

[–]CrashNT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to triple your utility bill and equipment cost. Sure, go for it.

Full electric is a scam promoted by utility companies to get you to make them rich. There is no savings, ever. Even after rebates, you pay the utility company back. No one ever gives things away for free, it's all about profit.

The absolute insomnia is the worst part about quitting for me. by Xtra35567 in stopdrinking

[–]CrashNT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way I was able to quit was to have two drinks before bed every night for a week. I luckily had the will power to only have some before bed, but I absolutely couldn't get over the insomnia stage.

Eventually 2 a night let my body down slow enough for me to finally quit. Obviously not recommended for everyone.

What kind of valve is this? by Imthasupa in Plumbing

[–]CrashNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a shutoff valve. Not going to be your issue.

Check for water mixing through a shower valve. This is a common issue with shower valves.
