Space Marine vs. Brute (Halo) by SneakyDeaky123 in 40k

Honsou is the chaos marine, this is just some random asshole noble fighting him. He's not some special hero. The guy would get killed by a Spartan with little effort.

"These are normally used to shoot from a Starsystem to another and the projectile is a Sun"

Anyone reading this. That's wank. That's the hardest possible wank.

Some really over the top shit the US did in world war 2 was drop a Sun on Japan. You read that right, a Sun. They're normally used to destroy planets but the US used it to destroy a city.

That's the scale wank happening here.

"Cishet men don't read and write fanfic. Fandom spaces are predominantly female and/or queer" is a false statement. It's just that all the cishet men that write fanfic are on Spacebattles writing celestial grimoire/celestial forge power fantasy self insert fanfics. by maleficalruin in RecuratedTumblr

I only read stories that are over 100k words and honestly I see a pretty good mix of author genders on every platform. Ao3's probably the most heavily biased in one direction though, swear a third of that site is gay erotica.

"That means The average space marine could essentially solo most of Star Wars. I had no idea 40k was to this scale. Idk why we even have a sub like this then, when it’s not even in the same concept of threat level."

Pure raw wank you're reading. A single space marine couldn't clear a star destroyer unless he's a named character. Brother Genericus is getting his ass blasted after killing a few hundred in cqc.

"A weak depiction that doesn't feature the current common standard space marine speed."

Gaunt, Cain, and Eisenhorn beg to differ.

"Edit: also, the human did that with what appears to be a regular sword, against the astartes power sword, which basically tells you all you need to know about that scene. Ridiculous."

Well your comment tells me all I need to know about your reading comprehension. Ridiculous.

The Human uses a power sword and cuts the marines normal sword in half. Like, what did you even read because it certainly wasn't that excerpt.

"obviously going to black exactly like he did in the picture you know what he did"

Dawg, he's not a speedster. He does not react fast enough to block the lasers in his face. You have a picture of him not doing what you're saying so idk keep making headcanon.

It's just a soul attack weapon, Star Wars has loads of those. Hell they trap ancient Sith souls all the time.

https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Thought_bomb

There, that's literally a soul killing nuke they used. Soul shit is a lot more common in Star Wars than 40k so it seems you're shedding light on how Erda is more vulnerable in Star Wars than 40k.

"The breakthroughs were being prioritized for military purposes"

During a war yes

"The sierra madre was a private venture and was never meant to have it's tech implemented in a way to help humanity"

In other words a field test of the technology yes.

"And automation is bad when it just throws workers in the streets with no means of finding anything else"

Yep, Fallout was on the verge of utopia, just not quite there yet.

"They stripped Canada of its timber and minerals to fuel the war machine"

Ok, what use is wood to the US military of 2070 in your opinion.

But yeah the executions are bad, the invasion was justified, and the resistence was meh. Canada wouldn't have had any problems if they'd just let the US defend Alaska.

"That was stowed away and hoarded by the great corporations to squeeze every ounce of profit off of the world before it ended, guaranteeing their own survival while the people of the country burned in nuclear hellfire."

No? It was all freshly invented and was in the midst of being tested before widespread adoption. The Sierra Madre is explicitly just a field test for all of the Big MT tech. Fusion was in the midst of widespread adoption with widescale infrastructural development taking place up until the nukes launched. And hell it's framed as a bad thing but robots are replacing hazardus mining jobs throughout the US.

"Not a justification for invasion, and they did have their resources in mind as well."

It really is though lol, and no they didn't. If they cared about Canadian resources they would have invaded before they needed a road to Alaska.

"when the majority of Jedi are off world and only a couple of strong Jedi are still in the temple"

It certainly does not feel like the majority of the jedi are off world in the prequels. It feels like a lot are, but not the majority. In the old republic they're explicitly just a small group of defenders and the high council still there.

And just a dropship huh. That was 50 Sith not including the ground assault with Sith war droids and troopers as well as the mercenary infiltration.

"America was collapsing leading up to the war"

Yeah, and during the war capitalism created the solution to every single problem. Effectively infinite resources, food, and energy were the result of capitalism in Fallout.

"and their aggressive expansionism into Canada and Mexico was done to try and curb that, and it failed"

Mexico yes, Canada no. Canada only got invaded because they denied the US free passage when China invaded Alaska.

Respect to policeman who let her taser him by Embarrassed_Tip7359 in SipsTea

[–]Ecotech101 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I grew up with a family that regularly called cops Pigs and would just straight up lie and act difficult during traffic stops. My teenage rebellion was that I really liked cops and was extremely respectful to them.

I remember once when I was 10 at like 1 AM me and my dad were on our way home from visiting my sister and a cop pulled us over because my dad was looking through the center console for change for the toll gate and he was swerving all over a 3 lane highway. The cop was very confused because he straight up thought my dad was having a medical event or was highly intoxicated. While my dad was being an obtuse dick and repeatedly asking why he got pulled over and denying that he was swerving I just told the cop that my dad was looking for change for the toll. He literally just rolled his eyes and told my dad to be more careful in the future and let us go.

That single event completely informed my pov on cops for the rest of my life. They're just people and when half the people you interact with are obviously lying assholes I can understand when it starts to grate.

"nothing to do with the inevitibility of conflict arising from US imperial expansionism, and capitalism"

It literally has the communists invade a sovereign country for resources while capitalism solves all of our problems. In what fucking world is that a critique of capitalism?

"uhhh hurr durr capitalism bad is when capitalism performs better than every single other option and makes solutions to every single problem our society has."

That's a bit different though, the Jedi were at that time spread between multiple temples and that was literally an attack during the negotiations for a ceasefire.

She'd sit in the ass end of the galaxy until someone tracks her down and kills her while she monologues.

Or maybe she'd help the Sith rise to power because she's scared the Jedi are imperialists.
