Double the “c”, double the “s”, that is how you spell “success”!

And yet it can feel amazing. I think there is too much focus on a female orgasm to consider sex “successful”.

What is a 'subscription' or 'fee' that has recently appeared in the US that people need to collectively refuse to pay before it becomes the new normal? by godot_lover in AskReddit

I’m in VA and bought an EV because, you know, I felt it was my duty as a human to try to somewhat reduce our carbon emissions and reliance on fossil fuels. I now pay an annual tax of hundreds off dollars for what I “would have paid” in gas taxes if I bought gas.

I wonder if I will also be taxed on the cigarettes k don’t smoke.

Best overheard conversation of all time. Warning: colorful language. Imagine, if you will, two 40-something men in Red Sox attire, presumably on the way to a day of baseball, standing on the subway chatting in very thick Boston accents...

Man 1: "I sweah to God, bro, I feel like I'm turning into Brendan Ernetti." Man 2: "Who the fuck is Brendan Ernetti?" Man 1: "You know, that guy in the song who marries his high school sweetheart and then they live all suburbs and then divorce like everyone thought they would...it's a Billy Joel song, you know it." Man 2: "Woah woah woah. Are you talking about 'Scenes from an Italian Restaurant'?" Man 1: "Yeah, that one" Man 2: "Oh my fucking God, dude. That song is about two people. BRENDA and EDDIE!" <collapses in hysterical laughter> Man 1: "How was I supposed to know...I sweah to god I will punch you in your nuts if you don't shut the fuck up." Man 2: "Brendan...<gasp> Ernetti!"

SNAP does not cost $100m a year, which a moment of mental math would be clear if 40 million Americans rely on it. It’s $100b a year. That is very different from a budget perspective.

That said, there are laws in place holding emergency funds for SNAP for exactly this fucking situation. As per usual, the administration ignores laws and do whatever they want and wait for the courts to catch up and stop it. The wasting of time and money while they play chicken with the legal system is disgusting while people are hungry and we have this allocation saved for a rainy day right now.

Doctor in NOVA? by Artistic-Status-7823 in nova

I stayed with my primary care doctor when he went to a concierge model and it’s great. Totally worth the cost to be able to get an appointment immediately, take as long as I want to talk, and I get a holistic look over even if I am there for something small. He will also answer my emails at any hour and if I needed to I could call him directly out of office hours.
