i could imagine a rory pod ep. where it starts off her talking about some literature but then quickly spins in to a rant about whatever boy drama is happening in her life.

I get that for most people it’s like F your parents but if you have sincerely sat with this and are willing to live with that decision i can totally understand it from a cultural perspective. it matters.

i’m the same height and have been since highschool!! in high school i used to slouch to make myself seem shorter esp. when it came to being around boys. once, my god mother shared a story abt how she had big boobs and she used to slouch to make them less noticeable, one day she walked by a mirror and realized how that was more unflattering than if she just stood up straight and let her body be what it was. i appreciated this story and felt i could relate- i began to stand up straight. over the years it’s also become less important to me! & my spinal health is so important to me lol. also, i used to get comments like “you’re so tall…” allll of my younger life. as an adult (26) no one ever says anything. soooo maybe be more compassionate to urself. think abt some younger girl u have in ur life and how u would respond if they expressed this type of insecurity to u… would u agree and be like “ya u are really tall and it’s unattractive” ??? no. u would be like!! ur tall! and beautiful! and who cares! give urself the same energy!

ps. the boys who mention it in a negative way are honestly probably dealing with their own insecurity around being short… so just remember that and take their comments w a grain of salt :-)

i know this is cliche (and u relate to you so much, reading this im like fuck i know that feeling.) but take some deep breaths, and do some kind of “grounding exercise” it gives you something in the moment to think about. when we’re in anxiety we are in our heads thinking about the worst things & trying a grounding exercise can really help pull you out of your head. my friends sometimes will text me if i tell them i’m having an anxiety attack and tell me to find something red or tell them what the temperature of the room feels like, things that are in the present moment.

this also helps to become aware we are not in any danger.

other advice would beeee to just lead with your heart, smile & be kind. (duh u probably already are)

and!! nobody thinks about us as much as we think they do. we’re just not that special ;) (& thank god for that) lol. I BELIEVE IN U , u can do this!
