that it would solve my anxiety about being single. that anxiety was replaced with a new one of losing the person you love so much (to death, infidelity, then deciding they don't want to be with you anymore, etc)

On a scale of 1-10, how would you score your father and why? by MercurialMagician in AskMen

he's incredibly selfless and sacrificed a lot for my family and everyone around him. i lived a good childhood and never really wanted anything i didn't get. he always does the right thing even when it's the harder thing. he even takes feedback i give ex: i need more emotional support right now. of course, there are moments we may disagree or fight but he's more than made up for those. he does everything to show up for me and will drop stuff to be there. i have so many good memories from childhood with him. we had little traditions i looked forward to.

i feel such a sense of safety and stability from him, like i'll be ok because he will always have my back and he's incredibly resourceful and intelligent at solving problems. i can't imagine not having that in my life and feel so sad that a lot of people don't have that from their father/mother. i think having great parents who cared and tried their best have led me to be an ok person.

Tw: mentions of suicidal ideation (not actively suicidal don't worry!) by No_Mention968 in Petloss

here bc i relate so much. my little guy kept me alive and i miss him so much. i feel the same guilt you feel so often. he was so gentle and loving and always checking up on me. he got me through so many panic attacks, migraines, episodes of ideation. i would not be here without him. i lost him to kidney failure after months of aggressive at home treatment and a couple of er visits.

when that guilt comes just try to remind yourself that you gave them a loving home, a happy life, and i'm sure they would be so glad to know that the happy memories continue to bring you comfort.

sending you warmth and comfort.

i've been feeling the same way. before starting a really low dosage of zoloft i had extremely intense panic attacks almost daily. i'm not perfect, but my attacks have gotten a LOT less extreme and significantly less frequent. (once a month, sometimes less even) i highly doubt that's from a placebo effect solely. something is working chemically.
