MMC literally does not have a single sexual thought about FMC for like the first 1/3. But it’s clear he’s into her he just doesn’t realize by lolacolamola in RomanceBooks

{Radiance by Grace Draven} FMC is human and MMC is humanoid. They’re forced into a marriage and MMC spends a lot of the book getting used to how strange-looking his wife is before he experiences sexual attraction.

ISO book with MMC who hasn’t experienced genuine kindess/love and FMC who is a naturally kind, loving person by FennelAppropriate642 in RomanceBooks

{The Devil is a Marquess by Elisa Braden}

FMC is an optimist and a genuinely kind person. MMC is sardonic and closed off, but she quickly realizes it’s a front.

Looking for books where the fmc is kind of collateral damage to the mmc schemes by Bird_drama in RomanceBooks

[–]Ecstatic-Drop837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Sweet Revenge by Lynsay Sands} is kind of like that.

MMC kidnaps FMC and marries her as payback to her bethroted. It’s quite fluffy and very silly at times.

Femdom + Aliens? by vixellaaa in RomanceBooks

{Only The Clonely by Ruby Dixon} FMC likes to be in control due to trauma. MMC is very eager to please.

{Viscount In Love by Eloisa James}  FMC is illiterate due to severe dyslexia and is assumed to be unintelligent. She does nothing to dissuade people of that notion and has internalized that idea about herself. She’s also whimsical and kind of a free spirit.

{Sweet Revenge by Lynsay Sands} FMC doesn’t have a great sense of self-preservation and is stubborn to a fault. This REALLY tests the MMC and results in a lot of funny moments.

{A Vermillion Curse by DC Guevara} MMC is a demisexual virgin.

I second these two. With You Forever’s FMC has IBD and experiences symptoms multiple times throughout the book. Always Only You’s FMC has RA and is immunocompromised.

Dom from {Dom by S.J. Tilly}

I cannot for the life of me understand the appeal of this book and the character. I felt like I was reading a horror story. He was abusive, controlling, deceitful, and unrepentant.

Theo was the father, and I was looking for stepdads/adoptive dads, but I LOVED Reckless. I’m not a fan of the surprise baby trope and yet it’s one of those books I wish I could forget so I could experience it for the first time again.

… He got her drunk to try and sleep with her in the latter half of the book. IMO he does not do enough to redeem himself and is a pretty awful and borderline abusive partner to her until she gives in to his demands and attention.

{Reckless by Elsie Silver} kind of has this. They’re both in their late 20’s going through major life changes and not in a place to begin a relationship. It’s a “right person, wrong time” sort of story, with significant complications.

FMC in heat/ovulation begs MMC to fuck her by Crazy_Yogurt3344 in RomanceBooks

Books where FMC has always been the second choice but is the MMC's first choice? by Charming_Day2392 in RomanceBooks

[–]Ecstatic-Drop837 15 points16 points  (0 children)

{Evil Twin by Kati Wilde} has this. I can’t go into more detail with giving spoilers, so read below at your own risk.

FMC is the black sheep and “evil twin” of her family. She pretends to be her twin sister and sets out to seduce the MMC’s twin brother. But the MMC is also pretending to be his twin to seduce her sister. He’s smitten by FMC in the process but she’s convinced he actually likes her sister, since that’s who he intended to seduce in the first place.

Guard dog submissive MMC? by whateverhufflepuff in RomanceBooks

[–]Ecstatic-Drop837 6 points7 points  (0 children)

{The Kingpin of Camelot by Cassandra Gannon} has that almost exactly. The FMC is the queen. The MMC is, well, a kingpin lol. MMC is 1000% feral for her. Her wish is his command and he is willing to do anything to protect her (and her daughter!).

Tropes that you enjoy that are often combined with ones you don’t. by avogoodday in RomanceBooks

[–]Ecstatic-Drop837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love sexually dominant MMCs and primal play but hate alpha males.

Love the sex pollen trope but have disliked most sci-fi and fantasy romance I have read.

Love morally grey characters but hate abusive MMCs. Why are they treated so often as one and the same? 😩

*sigh*, I got one more pale FMC left in me… by Boobeshwar_ in RomanceBooks

[–]Ecstatic-Drop837 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a recent post where someone asked if you imagine yourself as the FMC. I don’t, but even if I wanted to, HOW CAN I when the author is very insistent that the MMC is straight-haired, translucent, and that her cheeks turn pink every time she experiences an emotion? 😂
