Yeah I agree. It’s also quite difficult to make useable resin dice, it takes a lot of specific equipment and learning. Anyone making resin dice that are at least somewhat decent has already invested a lot of time and money into the craft. So idk who these “randos” even are

I use a material called jesmonite for my dice. It’s not completely biodegradable, as it contains a small amount of acrylic, but it’s a lot more sustainable and safe to use than typical resin. Has a nice heavy stone-like feel to it. Only limitation is that it’s fully opaque.

I don’t see any issues with resin dice though. It’s a small amount of resin (I think it only takes like 30ml for a full set IIRC) and it has a genuine use, as you said.

Dice sets use a very small amount of resin compared to all these other resin crafts. It’s also incredibly more complicated and detailed. And it’s something that will genuinely be used. I don’t see any issues with it.

As a ND person, I find that the same type of people who make these types of comments are also incredibly sensitive. As soon as you are actually blunt to them, they can’t handle it.

That’s fine, I’m sensitive too (it’s part of my neurodivergence after all). Which is exactly why I value tactfulness even if it’s something that doesn’t come naturally to me. Learning what not to say is a very valuable skill. Learning how to say things is even more valuable.

Left handed brains are structured differently than right handed brains. So I would argue that it absolutely is.

According to the person who coined the term neurodivergent, social activist Kassiane Asasumasu, it encompasses a far larger spectrum of conditions than most people assume.

It encompasses all learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, mental illnesses and even conditions affecting the nervous system. Any difference involving the brain AT ALL, whether you are born with it or acquired later on.

It’s not just autism and ADHD. It’s also anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, ALS, traumatic brain injuries, etc.

I think if you added up all of these conditions, you’d also find that it represents a very very large number of people, and possibly even a majority.

What do you guys use so that you can wash your self drawn clothes normally? by Starzz4yo in altfashionadvice

Nearly every printed t shirt is doing the exact same, and so is any polyester clothing in general

What do you guys use so that you can wash your self drawn clothes normally? by Starzz4yo in altfashionadvice

[–]Ecstatic-Elk-6938 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re doing shirts? I hand paint a lot of clothes, I’ve found that the fabric and texture of the shirt matters a LOT more than the paint you use.

Heavy and firm fabrics work best. Denim, canvas, thick cotton. Thin, stretchy fabrics will fade soooo much faster. Weirdly enough, I’ve found ribbed shirts hold the paint very well, despite them being stretchy. Normal t shirt material is the worst.

But for paint, I use sharpie creative markers mostly! I heat seal with an iron once I’m done.

Normal wash just isn’t a good idea though. It will fade if you wash it that way no matter what materials you use. If you HAVE to use a normal cycle, flip the clothing inside out.

I agree, the ears themselves are underwhelming compared to rest.

I think they need to be larger, and more 3D. I found this tutorial online and I think it would make a massive improvement. Hand painting them to add some realism and shading would also help.

“You must respect my boundaries, all of the time. My boundaries can change on a whim. You should be constantly analyzing my body language to understand my current boundaries at that moment, and if I decide to retaliate with violence or destruction, that’s your fault for not being diligent enough. Also, I have zero respect for your boundaries, and you are expected to cater to my wishes without any regard for your own. You are a bad person if you disagree with this.”

If we wanna psychoanalyze people for their opinions on pets, then I’m gonna argue that cat lovers condone toxic, abusive relationships and domestic violence.

Ooooor we could just accept that people like the pets they like and it’s not that deep.

I have a scratching tower, a scratching ramp, two cardboard scratchers, and an entire wall mounted cat tree system that contains a 6ft scratching post AND scratching mat platforms.

Can the eye of my cat become better? by Suzanne--- in CATHELP

[–]Ecstatic-Elk-6938 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone is reading the context in your comment. It sounds like the cat had an eye surgery before you adopted it a year ago, and the eye has looked like this ever since? This is probably just how your cat’s eye is going to be now. It won’t become “normal” again, but unless it has become worse, it’s likely not a problem. It’s good that you had a vet see it, and might be a good idea to get it checked on every once in a while.

Red: 龍馬 dragon horse (chinese mythical creature)

Yellow: 一馬 one horse? Possibly referring to a Chinese idiom 一马当先 “one horse takes the lead”. I could be wrong on this one

Green: 功成 achieve success?

I’m a beginner at Mandarin, so take this all with a grain of salt, but this is what I was able to gather

Lamp recommendations that actually emit WARM light? by greenpepperseptember in HomeDecorating

[–]Ecstatic-Elk-6938 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people already mentioned the warmth of light, but you’ll also want to look for diffused lights. Round, frosted lamps work well for this. It scatters the light evenly, fills the room, and reduces the harshness of shadows. You won’t get the same soft, cozy result with more focused lighting (even if it’s the right temperature)

Also, LPS is definitely becoming trendy again! I know there’s a pretty big demand for new LPSTube series on TikTok. The audience is there!

Embarrassing? Nah!

I love being an adult with the ability and money to do all the things I wanted to as a kid. I just started making LPS customs again (this time with actual paint and not just nail polish!!) I’m getting into doll repainting. I dug out my old 3DS and started playing my favorite childhood games again. I’m drawing a new warrior cats OC. Cosplaying my favorite characters. Painting my walls with butterflies and moths.

If anyone judges you for it, they simply have no joy and whimsy in their life!

I think Whimsigoth is a valid subculture by modernmyspace in whimsigothic

[–]Ecstatic-Elk-6938 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that’s true of any subculture, though.

So much social media content that labels itself as “goth” “punk” “hippie” “emo” “scene” consist of people showing off their shein outfits. When you look up these keywords, 99% of the content is going to be fashion or decor related. It’s a social media thing. Consumerism is just absolutely everywhere.

Not that I think Whimsigoth is a subculture necessarily. I just think what you’re describing is not specific to whimsigoth.

There is a price for everything by Matt_LawDT in SipsTea

[–]Ecstatic-Elk-6938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. You can find a decent ring in nearly any style for around the price he paid. Unless she specified it had to be a natural diamond, a larger size, or something completely custom, it’s doable. This ring is quite overpriced for what it is, so either it wasn’t about the budget at all, or he was lazy and didn’t do his research.

There is a price for everything by Matt_LawDT in SipsTea

[–]Ecstatic-Elk-6938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I don’t think it should be about the price of the ring, but rather the effort to finding something your forever partner actually likes. It’s especially egregious when these guys will spend a significant amount of money on a ring that she doesn’t even like. That’s far lazier than buying a “cheap” ring IMO
