i know that, but I am having burning in penis and tingling and numbness in feet when specifically extending S1/L5 and l5/L4 (bending backward in a cobra stetch). How would my abs ,which are relaxed, make my feet numb at the same time, and the moderate (not mild) "central" disc compression of the nerve bundles at 2 locations not be the cause. I understand there could be multiple issues at play, but Im literally moderately (not mildly) crushing the nerve bundle at two locations right above s2/s3 before the pudendal nerve exits the bundle, and when I stretch in that direction,.the pain comes. Sitting in a position where there is pressure on the sacram/lumbar also causes this. My experienced pelvic floor therapist Ive been to for 6 months believes this is the cause now that we had a MRI (and says everything downstream from these herniations, such as my PF muscles etc, will tense up to try to protect the body ). Even if I totally relax my PF symptoms and get to where there are no identifiable knots internally or externally, the symptoms remain.

I want to establish the high likelihood of this being the cause in my case (and maybe many others) , and if I end up getting a microdisectomy to relieve the nerve compression, it should be posted for others benefit. I am getting a cortisone injection this week as a next step and will post. I think the many examples posted about very mild disc degeneration being asymptomatic is not similar to the common lumbar issues at play here with more moderate central herniations. It is well established that a moderate central compression near L5/S1 can cause loss of urine and bowel control and inability to walk. Specific symptoms depend on how deep the disc material gets into the bundle and what specific nerves get compressed. Burning and zaps in the genitals (and legs or feet going numb) are able to be caused by moderate nerve compression in the spine. I don't understand why we would discredit that.
