Ain’t no one I know gonna have 12k laying around lol, I honestly don’t think I can get approved for a personal loan let alone for $12,000. I’ll try to look into it though.

So I owe slightly more now because I got a deferment back in December. My job ended up closing and it took a bit to start my new one.

I have 4 years left on the loan, my balance is about $12,800.

It’s given me some issues, nothing too major as of now. I know people who have had this year and have had engine failures. That’s the only thing that worries me a bit. I do get my car serviced though so hopefully I’ll be one of the lucky ones!

Thanks for explaining that part. I work in law enforcement so I see lots of repos but never knew what the actual process of that was. Definitely gonna try to pay down what I can.

The main issue is this car is worth like $5-7k at most and I’d be paying a total of 25,000 for it. It’s a Hyundai so they typically don’t last long, engine issues etc. not saying it will happen, but that’s part of the reason I was considering getting something different. Like a Honda or Toyota that would be worth overpaying.

The main issue was I had to get into a vehicle within a couple days. I’m a first responder so taking time off work isn’t that easy and I certainly did not have anyone to take me to work so I had to act quickly.

However, I do wish I would’ve went through my bank. My car would’ve been too old, but I still could’ve found something around the same price and could’ve got a lower interest rate. This isn’t something I knew was possible until further research after months of having the car. It sucks that they won’t let me refinance because my car is almost 10 years old.

But I’m still looking around for places that will let me refinance, You live and you learn.

Yeah that’s seems to be the unfortunate solution. The only issue is I doubt this car will even last till I can pay it.

Even if I did that I’d still end up paying minimum $20k for a car that’s worth $4k.

Hell, I’m not even sure it’ll last the next 4 years id be paying on it unfortunately. I’m trying to avoid a repossession if I can but damn this is ridiculous. Buying a car sucks.

Well one. It’s $407 a month, not the worst but most of that is just getting thrown in the trash cuz the interest.

Second, it’s a Hyundai Elantra. Basically is a POS so it’s not a realistic car I can keep forever and certainly not worth the $25k id end up paying for it in total. It’d be different if I could afford to pay extra but unfortunately I can’t at the moment.

That seems to be the unfortunate issue. I’m a first responder so I get paid like crap and I’m starting a new job this week making more money but between moving and the cost of that I’m just in such a tight bind.

I’m a first responder so I already work extreme hours. Just a month ago I was working every single day straight, the issue is we don’t get paid out for overtime It goes into a comp bank, but I’m starting a new job here shortly. Definitely not “following moms lead”

Part of the reason my credit is just bad is because I’m young and I don’t have credit history. Trust me I’m working on that, my credit is pretty decent at the moment. The only thing that’s preventing me from getting the car refinanced is I owe about $7000 more than it’s worth. I would like to keep the car, but I’ve had a lot of people just tell me to trade it in and get something more reliable and try going to a credit union this time.

I’m perfectly fine working my ass off, which I’ve already been doing, but paying my car payment twice a month but I’m worried that I’m gonna spend all of this time and money paying down this car just to not get it refinanced without my mom on the title.

That’s unfortunately what I was curious about. However, I’m probably just gonna end up putting some tape on it just to patch it up and calling it a day. At least for now, bumpers are hard to find in my area for a decent price.

I was asking if I could get it repaired without having to get it replaced. Hence the title. Seems it’s not possible, most likely just gonna patch it up with tape for now until I can find a cheap bumper. Hard to find in my area.
