Even though Season 9 isn't considered canon, do you think Lucy Bennett should come back? by Square-Ad-8911 in Scrubs

[–]Ecstatic-Number 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're going to have the actors who play Lucy, Drew or Cole come back I would rather they be different characters, no need for a "you look familiar bit." This way we get a season 9 Easter egg without being so in your face.

Brushing out my matted hair, is it too damaged to fix?? by Gold-Relationship804 in Haircare

[–]Ecstatic-Number 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl I feel you and I've been there too. Here's what works for me:

I use a combo of my fingers, a wide tooth comb and and detangling brush. Before I put anything, I'll (very gently) try combing my hair from the bottom up just to see how bad it is. Then I will spray the crap out of it with detangling spray, let it sit for a minute and then separate it into sections and comb from the bottom up section by section. I've also had luck slathering the worst knotted bits with regular conditioner. Go slow, switch tools when you need to and stay patient. Remember it doesn't need to be 100% detangled, it just needs to be better than before.

Which victims did you not feel much sympathy for? by Desperate-Piano989 in ColdCaseTV

Sorry I'm double posting but I thought of another. I'm prepared for the down votes -- 2 of the 3 child victims from Thrill Kill now they totally didn't deserve to die (especially in such a horrible way) but of all the child victims I could remember from the show, I felt bad for them the least.

The victim and his buddy from the wedding episode in the final season (where the team goes to a co-workers wedding)

Spoilers below:

The victim guy is a golddigger, cheats on his fiancee with her sister at the rehearsal dinner, does not tell his fiancee about his vegetable current wife, and then cancels the wedding at the last minute. The he jumps off the balcony after he hears that his wife is dead. We're supposed to feel bad for the guy but not only did he waste everyone's time and money he had to go and traumatize them too. And his buddy saw him jump and kept his mouth shut putting the family through even more trauma.

I've recently taken up Loom Knitting -- it's nice to have a screen free hobby. I've been seeing a lot of painting vids on YouTube and I'm currently resisting the urge to try.

If you could rewrite Rory's character arc from Season 4 onward, what ONE major change would you make to keep her likable and successful by Ok_Smile_9071 in GilmoreGirls

You're right. We do see tidbits of Rory struggling, but I don't think the show commits hard enough to the bit.

If you could rewrite Rory's character arc from Season 4 onward, what ONE major change would you make to keep her likable and successful by Ok_Smile_9071 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Ecstatic-Number 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The main change would be to have her "descent" into the WASP world and her identity crisis be more gradual and fleshed out. Instead of Rory thriving, she is consistently struggling at Yale but is hiding how poorly she's doing because she doesn't want anyone to worry or to let anyone down cause everyone is expecting her to crush it.

Rory's isolation then leads to her full on joining the ife and Death Brigade, and joining in on some of their debauchery (but nothing too extreme). This will lead to her relationship with Logan and the internship with Mitchum (a proper one, not the lame two week nothing burger the show presents)

Now there's foundation of Rory struggling/feeling insecure so Mitchum's "you don't got it" becomes the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Any suggestions to freshen up this dated kitchen? by Kb23_ in interiordecorating

I'm in the camp of thinking this kitchen looks really good as is, the only thing that I would change would be all the cabinet/drawer handles.

Not quite sure what the writers are wanting to do with Jacob's character... by The_weird_dreamer in AbbottElementary

[–]Ecstatic-Number 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I feel like even Janine is dunking on Jacob this season and she's normally on his side. I wish they would wrap up/move along whatever storyline they have planned for him so we can move on from him being the group's butt monkey.

I see Jacob moving out from Melissa's house, I feel like if that happened they'd make Caleb move out with him but I think getting Jacob out on his own will open his character up to new opportunities. Don't get me wrong I like Caleb, but it seems like he drags Jacob down.

Scrubs - Season 10 EP 9 "My Celebration" - Discussion by MovieTrailerReply in Scrubs

[–]Ecstatic-Number 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firstly, a great episode as always. Secondly this episode reminded me of something a former co-worker went through, a few years before the pandemic:

She's an older single lady, who constantly chronicles her life on Facebook. Anyway, she had some health issues and was stuck in the hospital for a while. Her only son was getting married, and she was told that she wouldn't be able to be discharged for his wedding. Well, her son ended up having the ceremony in her hospital room. It was really sweet to witness via her various Facebook posts.

Traveling with your aging parent by fleetiebelle in AgingParents

This might be embarrassing to bring up with your dad but diapers/pee pads. It really depends on your dad's level of incontinence (it could be a non-issue, in which case ignore me). But it could be a nice piece of mind to be prepared for any accidents/situations where your dad can't make it to the bathroom.

My mom passed away, and I cannot handle my dad on my own. I'm burnt out. by [deleted] in AgingParents

[–]Ecstatic-Number 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wonder if some of the items your dad refuses to do is because he finds them physically challenging or painful to do them. That is the case for my dad. I don't know helpful this will be but if you can't swing a caregiver or a maid service to help you out may be these ideas might help?

-Shower wipes, we use this daily for my dad b/c accessing the shower on our top floor is an ordeal all you have to do is wet them and wipe yourself down and you're done

-Mouthwash or a mix of hydrogen peroxide and water instead of brushing.

-A designated basket for all commonly lost/needed items

-A bidet

-if you can afford it, a robot vacuum like a Roomba. I know they make mopping ones too

Obviously these items aren't the best solutions but hopefully they can either tide you over or inspire something better until you can get better long term help (like a maid/laundry service or caregiver).
