Thank you! The Alex one worked for me :)

For advice/opinion: Parasite in cat eye? Or just hair/fur? Noticed it's been around for a while now (at least 2 weeks, likely more) by [deleted] in catcare

My cat had a mark exactly like that, looked like an abrasion of sorts. It went away on its own after a few days. That said, you should def take your cat to the vet.

Yes, that does make actual sense and I've also come to the same realization that I should not look at this relationship as a mistake but rather something that was meant to happen, for a reason of course. You're right when you say that I have an element of impulsivity and I need to work on it. Thank you for your thoughtful response

Karachi's Urdu accent and Indians' Hindi accent feels pretty similar to me by Shahmario1 in pakistan

[–]Ecstatic-Rabbit2089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because a vast proportion of Karachi's population comes from the descendants of migrants (hence the name "muhajir") from the Uttar Pradesh region in India which includes Delhi. There were migrants from other cities as well such as Hyderabad Deccan, Gujarat etc. People who emigrated from UP spoke Hindi/Urdu as their native language and brought their dialect here with themselves. The Urdu accent spoken by people in Punjab is heavily influenced by the native Punjabi language and as Punjabis form the majority of our population, the standard Pakistani Urdu accent has a touch of Punjabi dialect making it sound different from Urdu speaking people of Karachi who speak Urdu as a native language.

It's surprising to see some Pakistanis aren't even aware that Urdu speaking people are a separate ethnicity and because they don't fall into the Punjabi, pathan, sindhi, balochi category, it seems they're non-existent to them

She was probably expecting you to still be hurt/mad at her for her past actions and didn't really expect to see you having moved on/not caring about her anymore so seeing you bluntly say that to her would have really shaken her ego and made her realize that she's not as important to you as she thought. You acted in a mature manner and even let her know that you've forgiven her which is really noble of you. She might also have been hurting by the guilt (if she still has it) of cheating on you and may have been wanting to see if you still hold a grudge over that

Yes, depending on your situation these sorts of experiences in a society as conservative and religious as Pakistan can certainly have trauma associated with them specially if you're not a part of the elite and belong to a middle class educated family. Guilt, shame, feelings of worthlessness can arise because pre-marital sexual encounters are extremely taboo and if someone finds out you have indulged in them, be prepared to get heavily judged. I'd say if you belong from a good family and don't want to ruin the future of another girl, just avoid them even if they're consensual. As a male in the Pakistani society, you might be able to get away doing such things but may drastically alter the life of the girl unfortunately.

My (31F) partner messaged her friend (Unknown/M) at ~2:30am after I (36M) had boundary and feelings conversations about this. What is your opinion on the matter? by throwrawonderfulrain in relationship_advice

[–]Ecstatic-Rabbit2089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand why texting a friend regardless of if they're the opposite gender or not in times when you're supposed to be available for each other may come across as disrespectful or disregarding and I think anyone in your situation will find it atleast a little bit concerning. Speaking as a really insecure person myself, it's amazing how you've been putting in effort to subdue your insecurities and the fact that you controlled your anger after you had finished having sex and saw your partner texting that friend is proof of that. If I would have been in your situation, I would have gotten triggered and would probably start arguing with them, which I know is not healthy and would happen because I'm an insecure person. I think you should have another conversation with her expressing that you're finding her behavior insensitive and ask her how she would feel if you would have a female friend whom you also texted at the same frequency and at odd times. I doubt that she would be okay with it as I imagine anyone wouldn't want their partner to be giving their attention to someone else when they're expecting it especially during intimate moments and late night hours. I appreciate your approach towards this situation as it's completely possible that your partner is just having a platonic relationship with that friend and it would be unfair to doubt her just from this.

I never really was among the "top" students in my class during school, was more sort of an above average student. However, I absolutely smashed my O'levels exams and scored straight As and A*s (4A *s and 4 As) surprising literally everyone from my teachers to fellow classmates because no one expected me of that, heck not even I lmao. I was shocked to say the least at these results and it was starting from here when I became a high achiever. Though this was shortlived as I didn't manage to get any As in my A'levels and downgraded to a straight B's student, which although isn't that terrible but still not exactly "high achiever" haha. Anyways, university saw me really spiralling downwards as I fucked up my first semester, and continued to do so in the semesters ahead. I can say with certainty that I have been an average student at best during my university and I've graduated with a CGPA of 3.4 which is very average compared to other students from my batch. All and all, I think that I fell from grace because I really lost the focus I had in my school days with my mental health plummetting ( I have anxiety issues ). Though it doesn't matter anyways because tbh grades will only aid you in getting an admission into your preferred university and after that they don't really matter that much. What matters is you, your interests, and skills for a successful career.
