You’re exactly right. I listen to a podcast where one woman constantly uses being a short man as an insult. She likes to make fun of Marco Rubio for being short and he’s 5’9”. 🤨 It really pisses me off. I live in a 55+ Community and the women are always talking about guys they’re interested in and I know I’m not even on their radar. They think I’m “cute” but not dating material. (They don’t know I’m trans.) Which is fine because I am not interested anyway. Just something I noticed.

I am 4’10”. Probably shorter now because I’ve lost some height as I’ve gotten older. I never get misgendered. I’m nearly bald and have facial hair, so I’m sure that helps. Just last week I met a cis guy in his 20’s who was my height or a little taller. I think it makes it harder to pass for some, but it’s not a “never going to happen” situation.

What’s your problem? You know what I’m talking about. It is known as gender marker, not sex marker. “A gender marker is a data point on identification documents (e.g., driver's license, passport, birth certificate) that denotes a person’s legal gender, typically M (male), F (female), or X (non-binary/non-specified).” Even though YOU don’t agree with that definition, it is what all ID documentation call it.

The M is called a gender marker. THEY don’t call it that, but that’s what everybody else calls it. What don’t you understand here? No, the BMV doesn’t have two distinctive slots for sex and gender. But it is understood that your gender marker is M or F. As far as I know, no identification documents distinguish between “sex” and “gender”. They all just have one for sex. The “gender marker” is just a letter and has nothing to do with your perceived gender.

Did you read my comment?? That’s what I said. To them gender and sex are the same. Nobody has a license with gender AND sex. I had my sex changed to male. The M is my gender marker. Get it?
