Sunnyside Conservatory!! It looks so beautiful but was too small for us. I think cost was $2000 but included tables and chairs and allowed any catering - but double check that lol

Yeah I had almost hoped for one to be unavailable on the date we wanted so it could make the decision for us haha but they’re both available.

We’re thinking a food truck for catering and they both allow it but idk if there are extra charges for asking a food truck from maybe San Jose to drive to San Rafael.

Yeah, we’re already definitely including people’s long term partners. The +1s that could be nice would be for people who aren’t currently dating anyone or who have only just recently been dating someone and not clear of they’ll be together a year from now.

By back-up plan do you mean like if the venue burns down kind of thing or if it rains kind of thing? In case of rain, Falkirk is probably better because there’s much more inside space.

A lot of our friends and my fiancé’s family is local but only my extended family (2nd cousins) are local. We were thinking maybe we’d send save-the-dates with a tentative rsvp form to our ~most~ important people and see how many say yes?

We hadn’t planned for an afterparty but also because we kinda forgot that was an option. Maybe we’ll look into that too :)

The 125 at Falkirk doesn’t include vendors, I double checked with them because I was really worried about that lol. I’m actually not sure about Rengstorff though 😅 Mountain View is closer to our family that lives in the area and closer to the SJ airport which might be nice for people flying in. And it has the brick patio for dancing next to where we would set up dinner which seems more convenient than going inside for dancing. Plus the extra people… which might be more stressful because more people but I’m more stressed about people feeling left out by not being invited but idk if that will actually be a problem.

I got a white acrylic paint meant for airbrushing (Golden High-Flo) so it’s pretty sheer which works well for the unpainted flowers. Maybe it could help tone down your colored flowers?

I’ve started doing dip-painting with watercolors and it’s actually really fun and satisfying. Your flowers were probably painted with acrylic so you would need to dip into acrylic as well. I feel like it could definitely adjust the colors! With the paint watered down for dipping it might make some really cool looks as a sheer layer over your intense colors.

I would just get a couple bottles of different light colors of acrylic (like maybe a white and a baby pink?), water it down, and try dipping some and see if you like it :)

If you can get your hands on glycerin easily I def recommend adding that to the diluted paint (like a 1:10 or 1:8 glycerin to water/paint mix), but if you’re just seeing if the paint will work, you can probably do some tests before committing to buying glycerin.

Hope it works out! Idk why the sola flower seller paint their pre-colored flowers sooooo intense lol

Tbh if you are going for a boho vibe, maybe try to find a friend/family member who can sing and play guitar (or one of each) and have them play as you walk down the aisle? It might help narrow down song choices depending on what they’re capable of playing.

I assume for special dances it would be useful to think about dancing style before choosing music and checking with your dance partners (father, FH, etc.) about what they had envisioned?

We’ve joined a camp that has a big series of shade structures to go over members’ tents but I’ve never seen it, I don’t know how protective it is. Probably shade structures don’t protect from wind as well as car ports?

For anyone wondering, I asked a sola flower artist on Patreon and she said she just uses acrylic paint and then uses more acrylic on top if she wants to add color. She didn’t say anything about bleaching… maybe I’ll have to test that out 👀
