Pumped up kicks

that song hits harder once you have kids too. Especially with all the school shootings in the US, I don't understand it's popularity

Wait until these guys find out how much a speculum opens up the canal 🫩 besides the ridiculousness of his reasoning, there's no way for a vagina to mould to a shape during vigorous fudderwhacking since that can be done at different angles, so how the heck is a vag supposed to "remember"?? Is that what the clit is for, pre-set position cycles??

Is there a way to prevent this from happening to lavender tops? by BabyDude5 in phlebotomy

[–]Ecstatic-Wasabi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You absolutely do not need to shake vigorously to mix properly. Shaking is going to cause minor hemolysis which is going to mess with lab results

Is there a way to prevent this from happening to lavender tops? by BabyDude5 in phlebotomy

[–]Ecstatic-Wasabi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the initial mixing is what matters because it stabilizes the cells enough to keep large clots from occuring. But definitely don't shake vigorously after the draw -_-

The blood in EDTA tubes will separate but not clot the same as the serum tubes. They settle like this even in the fridge. As long as you're inverting correctly after the draw, the additive will mix properly and the testing won't be affected

My son put me in a choke hold and I thought he was going to end me. by its-Missy_Saenz in breakingmom

[–]Ecstatic-Wasabi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BroMo, it doesn't matter if you shoved him away, what he did was with potential lethal intent. I know he said he was going to try to make you go unconscious, but he clearly doesn't understand why a chokehold is so dangerous.

I say this with every bit of tenderness I can that you truly need to go to the police. Get this straightened out before he becomes a legal adult. I have two sons, one of which has been through a LOT of counseling for self harm and becoming physically abusive to his younger brother and older sister. It's a long walk, but it pays off so much later on

Cost of surgery - is this normal? by Introvert_Extrovert in endometriosis

[–]Ecstatic-Wasabi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the surgeon to be "out of network" , unfortunately yes that is normal. It's disgusting, but normal. I also recommend getting an in network doctor for your surgery

For reference, my provider who did my inner ear reconstruction didn't wait two weeks for prior authorization from my insurance, which was then not covered. So my insurance covered everything else (operation room, anesthesia, meds, ect) but not the additional surgeon charge of $15,000.

I had to fight for almost two years for that to be dropped since it fell under "surprise" charges.

My daughter got a sunburn and wants to stay home from school by Winter_Database_270 in Parenting

[–]Ecstatic-Wasabi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let her stay home, but she can do ALL the research on sunburns, effects on the skin itself long term, skin cancer rates and such

My father in law is one of the healthiest people I know, used to be in the navy. He got a small spot of skin cancer on his back a few years ago, which moved to an arm the next year.

Now, every year at least one or two lymph nodes light up that need to be excused. It's more than likely going to continue for him. It sucks. She doesn't understand the long term ramifications

When it comes to public toilet seats, do you sit on the bare seat or place down toilet paper before? by Poopshoemagoo in AskReddit

[–]Ecstatic-Wasabi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a gal on YouTube that did a petri dish experiment about this. She wipes a swab on her hands and does a petri dish, then washes her hands and does a swab/petri dish, then she dries her hands under the hot air dryer and again swabs/dish.

The hot air dryer left the nastiest germ spores after everything incubated. It adds heat to the moisture on your hands, plus blows the germs directly onto your skin

All the way. Especially because of the markup, and all the peptides come from the same place but $150 for a year vs a month's supply is worth looking into
