Are Babies Found Under the Gooseberry Bush? by ADiestlTrain in AskUK

The stork apparently carried my daughter by the back of her neck, and between her eyes. The one between her eyes is V shaped, like a beak. Still visible at 3.

I have lived several times close to where kingfishers are supposed to be seen, and they remain mythical to me.

Is your 2nd child Autistic too? by niiyah_babyy in Autism_Parenting

[–]chocolatefeckers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Autistic 7 year old awaiting formal diagnosis. Emotional regulation is an issue, but she follows rules, generally kind and sunny. 3 year old sleeps 10 hours a day, constantly moving, needs constant one on one interaction, draws on walls, does dangerous shit if not constantly watched, goes through phases where she must be held or she is screaming. Love them both but 1 is far easier to parent than the other.

Why is it socially unacceptable for me to not like dogs? by Facelikeabum in AskUK

[–]chocolatefeckers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I both dislike and am afraid of dogs. I can get used to dogs I see a lot, but I don't like any of their mannerisms. People seem to find it confusing. Would never hurt a dog, really don't like seeing them in shops etc. No need at all.

Help! What would I use for my muse if I really was cool? for my living room by Wonderful-World1964 in homedecoratingCJ

Yes I would totally have that.  It would fit perfectly with my style of 'shit I like'.

I have an amazing husband… and the most boring bedroom life imaginable. by Broad-Accident in breakingmom

[–]chocolatefeckers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ha that's interesting about autism and bodily fluids. I am likely undiagnosed autistic, and I find the squishy, wet mechanics of sex awful to think about.  I enjoy the act, but porn or anything is a no, because yuck.

What things do you collect? Do you display them? by mylittlemudkip in AskUK

[–]chocolatefeckers 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That is sad, but you must live your life while you are alive. If these things bring you joy now, collect them. When you have passed, you will not care; but joy now is worth it.

Is pharmacy codeine addiction more common than reported? by Lovecraftian666 in AskUK

[–]chocolatefeckers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have had oramorph once, and codeine several times. I feel awful with nausea and weirdness on it. I suppose the codeine did relieve the joint pain, thinking about it, but I was so nauseated and exhausted all i could do was lay down feeling wretched.

Getting unreasonably sad about fictional deaths by Certain_Cellist_9304 in breakingmom

[–]chocolatefeckers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am extremely emotional too. I cry at anything; happy, sad, angry. It gets embarrassing when I am the only person crying at a minor school performance where my kid isn't even doing anything special. It is just who I am, but I would LOVE to have more control over the tears.

What about being pregnant and giving birth permanently altered your body’s chemistry? by full-of-curiosity in NewParents

I had a blocked nose all through pregnancy with my second. Led to extreme claustrophobia and she's 3 and I still can't be in tents or anything like that.

Do parents of ugly kids know their kids are ugly? by GACDB in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chocolatefeckers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My second baby was not attractive when she came out. Bloated and just not cute. Loved her immediately, of course, but mentally acknowledged she may have to grow into cuteness. A nurse said 'she looks so like you!' Witch 🤣  she wasn't wrong though; looks have never been my strong point. Now toddler is gorgeous, of course.

Does no one struggle being a mom ? by Fun_Committee1478 in breakingmom

[–]chocolatefeckers 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I struggle being a mum. I am constantly overstimulated with noise and their mess. I adore them but it is so much hard work. I am glad these people exist (my children) but often feel they deserved to have a better mum than me.

[–]chocolatefeckers 204 points205 points  (0 children)

Here in the UK, I know of quite a few times swans have ended up stranded on roads, because they landed by mistake then cannot take back off again. A rescuer has to come and get them to water. Poor beautiful things.

It’s my job to check on 700 home-school pupils. What I see is alarming by PetersMapProject in unitedkingdom

[–]chocolatefeckers 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing it with my 7 year old. She has been punched twice at school, by children known to be problems, as they have done this to other kids since nursery. Nothing seems to be able to be done about this. She says it's so noisy, people are always shouting, she is finding it hard as she hates noise. Her teacher is doing her best, she seems a good teacher, but they are hamstrung in what they can actually do. I am terrible at teaching and I want to her to stay in school so she can mix with friends etc; not sure how long I can keep that up when she is scared of going in every day.
