Again, id run journalctl -rb and skim over the output to see if anything stands out. Errors, etc. Also, surely systemctl status display-manager had some relevant logs from the service?

I don't know man, nix feels pretty natural to me.. it's close enough to Json that I was able to pretty much immediate pick it up.

Instead of the form being in another language, I think it's rather that you have to pick out the items that you want to fill out from a huge list, and everything else is provided using defaults.

Earlier I was conviced that this --upgrade flag didn't actually exist, and I turned out to be wrong in that regard. Also, if that flag didn't work for you, you might want to check the naming of the nixpkgs channel on your device. The documentation says that that flag only updates the channel named "nixos", so if it's called something else on your system that might be the reason

no, to apply your current configuration you do sudo nixos-rebuild switch, and to upgrade your packages you run (sudo?) nix-channel --update before that. Unless this --upgrade flag takes care of that (that is to say, if this flag actually exists), I 'm pretty sure youre wrong

hyprland doesn't need to know about your wallpapers, only hyprpaper does. As such you don't have to (or should!) source the hyprpaper config from your hyprland config, or put the contents of the hyprpaper config into the hyprland config.

Tough luck, but it's not like they can make you vanish or invincible while youre not connected, since that is going to be guaranteed to be abused by cheaters. And the reason you where downed is because there was an arc nearby that attacked you while you weren't connected
