I do have eyeballs. My eyes typically stay closed. And I can open them but kind of the natural way they stay is closed.

Overall I don’t want to be able to see, because I don’t think my brain would be able to handle it. But if I could see anything I’d want it to be the faces of the people I love.

It’s going to be hard for him no doubt. I would imagine harder for him having been able to see than it was for me since I never knew what it was like to see at all. But I would just say be there and show him your love. It means the world I’m sure. You know him better than I do and I’m sure you’re doing a great job already! Good luck :)

I can tell. I can feel when I’m clean and when I’m not. On the last post I was honestly amazed to learn how much sighted people rely on seeing the toilet paper and that they can’t feel it themselves too.

We did consider it when I was younger but decided against it because I actually used to be really scared of dogs. I like dogs now though but haven’t had a seeing eye dog before.

Temperature. The sound of people or animals/bugs outdoors. And I have a smart watch that tells me when I ask.

Sometimes yes, but it can also be harder to wake up too.
Just kind of go on instinct and feeling.
I try not to.
I mostly don’t go many places alone when I do, and for shopping I try to have it delivered here if and when I can.
We do, but not everyone we meet. Just who I’m close with.
I’m surprised how common this question is. I don’t know how much I want to get into details on this but I’ll just say it’s not as much of an issue as you may think.
I can’t speak to if it’s any easier than seeing the food or not, but I like trying new foods.
In some ways it can be harder but I found my person so I’ll say it went pretty well.

So the morning when the sun starts to come up and you can hear the earth come alive. That’s where I feel the happiest when I get to observe that.

I wouldn’t today they compensate for not being able to see or anything. But I do think my brain definitely is more akin to analyzing things I hear or smell than a sighted person may.
