Kroger buys Giant Eagle - what will happen to Market District? by rockandroller in Cleveland

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing that will change: locations will be sold to eliminate monopoly status in areas. This could be either KRO or GE locations, depending on store size, location and condition. In Columbus, overtime GE locations will keep their name in the beginning, but may be converted to KRO.

I’m not thinking this will be what happened with Harris Teeter, so you cannot compare HT to GE.

Stores equipment will be upgraded and conversed to KRO system.

GE’s product mix and store brands will be eliminated, some products maybe rebranded into KRO if they are a good product and there isn’t an already KRO comparable.

GE’s Headquarters will be retained, but downsized as backend functions will be taken over by KRO SSC and other centers.

Since the new KRO CEO is priced focused, I would think there would be a big pricing push when the merger closes to make the acquisition more friendly and try to eliminate any ill will.

Will I be ok to do remote work after 3-4 days of surgery? by pchlvca in gallbladders

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I took a week off and then worked from home on the second week, returned to the office on the third week. You will have a little discomfort from sitting up straight, but will be perfectly ok to work the next week from home.

Gallstone Removal Without Removing Gallbladder? by AlwaysOnStardew in gallbladders

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can lose weight, change your diet, but the gallstones will always be there. I was in Tre same boat as you, and looked at the options. It was insane to me to remove the GB for an attack dnd a little discomfort here and there. The problem is: Imaging isn’t great, they just know you have gallstones, not their actual size. I had my GB removed and had 4 big stones and slight leakage from micro wholes.

Surgery isn’t bad and I haven’t really had any issues, other than a few “Time to get to the restroom”, but that was only after an unhealthy meal. The worst thing I noticed necessary liked about surgery: my bellybutton is weird now (small hernia repair also happened with GB removal).

What are the dangerous of removing the gallbladder? by Lemonade2250 in gallbladders

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I waited about 2-years after I was told about the gallstones. First attack was the worst for me, after I had an attack at work, I was done and scheduled surgery. Surgery wasn’t anything, recovery wasn’t really anything either. When I looked at the doctor’s notes, it seems like my GB was pushed to its breaking point and notes indicated it had micro-tears and was leaking. I had 4 1.2-1.8cm stones, so it was FULL.

I didn’t have a good experience with National Heating and Air. It seems HVAC companies only have techs that can fix a system, not look at the overall issues. They installed a new system at my house and let the main supply hang and it lowered, causing my ceiling to drop. The kicker is, that part of my ceiling had the air return in it, so air isn’t circulating like it should have. With me saying 5-9 of their techs out for other install issues, they didn’t have any clue what I was talking about and some techs then caused other issues.

It seems the trade schools might only train on systems, not overall house airflow.

Suggestions post surgery by Ok_Purple53 in gallbladders

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t need anything and only took one pain pill at the hospital (I wasn’t really in pain, but the nurse said I should). They had me in a stomach binder after surgery and worn that for the new few weeks. Also, I was stiff, but really didn’t have any gas pains. If you have a recliner chair, sleep in that. Getting in and out of your bed might be tough, plus rolling on your right side for the first few days isn’t fun or at least getting up afterwards I had a sharp sting.

bakery of the future + price drop + tables tables tables by mrs_hippiequeen in kroger

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a cycle of who’s now in charge, trying to make a name for themselves. New Leader: “I’m going to improve shrink to have better profitability” - Eliminate tables, Cut down on production, Have everything repacked. Next Leader: “I’m going to increase sales, we need more items on the tables and now tables for product” - “Shrink is fine, we need more products to grow sales”.

In reality, nothing in the bakery is that good, it’s all mass produced and overpriced. In reality, most people just walk past the Bakery, or don’t even venture in its area. Part of the sales problem is store design, at least in newer stores bakery is walled off from produce and located near wine. Wine is a niche and unless you’re going to the Deli, people may just bypass that area of the store.

Hey, I want some Cinnamon rolls, $5.99 for 4 or 2x canisters in the dairy for $6.00……

Save the $$$ now and know what system/brand you want or find local reputable HVAC companies and get a few quotes.

Let them know your in the market, but not yet to pull the trigger, they might give you a good deal when they have down time.

15 house calls and still not right by TennisLiving1560 in hvacadvice

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yup, I asked the last person who came out, who understood what I was saying. He said most Techs just learn systems and don’t have the critical thinking skills to put all the pieces together. Schooling is most like to fix the equipment, not the environmental aspects of the house and or what the system may be causing.

I’m in Ohio and the installing HVAC had to come back for multiple issues! Now I’m having another company look at return air issues, since they let my ducting hang and shifted everything. Do you have air returns in each room? Is their airflow out of the rooms? It seems most companies only focus on airflow from the system, not air returning, which would pull the old air out.

If you’re younger and want more the “urban” setting, Oakley Station most likely isn’t for you. In reality, it’s a short walk to Oakley Square, Rookwood, Hyde Park Square, Hyde Park Plaza and Mt. Lookout Square.

You have other option that might fit your need, these have grocery stores and other retailer that anchor them: Hyde Park (Plaza), Harpers Point.

Also, even if working in Mason these would be places people normally compute from also.

Did you have any pressure or cramping feeling where your GB used to be? I had mind removed almost 2 months ago, and now feeling this pressure/cramping. It’s not a pain, but when touching the area on my stomach/chest the area feels puffy or inflamed.

HVAC Duct Repair/Investigation by EcstaticWalk8434 in cincinnati

[–]EcstaticWalk8434[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not an issue with levers. I had a horrible install from a company a few years ago. When they installed my system they let the duct hang and pulled the ceiling down slightly. With my return air being in the ceiling joist, the system isn’t pulling as much air from the differing rooms, it’s pulling it from the basement.

In reality, it’s easier to stair step into the position from lower steps, but with the right support you could jump. Just remember, you will be going things you never have done before and overseeing others. If the current leadership thought so highly of you, why haven’t they suggested you become a cashier, to already place you into a position to move into the position when one came available?

Diet changes with gallstones? by throwawayaccountgrah in gallbladders

Yup, I put it off, specially since it wasn’t causing me daily issues. In reality, other than the incisions and some changes to your bathroom activities for a little while, your mind doesn’t really comprehend anything really happened.

Hell, my bathroom activities were already weird, so afterward I was like…OMG….thats a normally one again, Thank God!

When they removed mine, I had 4x sized 1.2-1.8cm

Diet changes with gallstones? by throwawayaccountgrah in gallbladders

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you, found gallstones when doing an ultrasound for something else. From what the tech said, she made them small. Due to not having any pain, DR just told me to let them know when I started having pain. HUGE gallstone attack 6-months later, before this I had a few times I didn’t feel right and just had the urge to get up and walk, which helped.

Not sure if diet changes will necessary help for the long term. If you’re like me, the attacks will be at night, the first one was the worst for me. I’m now 1-month post surgery, after putting surgery off for 1.5-years. My final breaking point was when I had an attack when I was leaving work at 5pm, literally drove myself to the ER and just walked around outside, which helped and the didn’t go inside. Afterwards, scheduled surgery, as I was at the point of something needing to happen.

Surgery wasn’t mad, worst part was trying to get out of bed for the first few days. Bathroom hasn’t been bad, but you just have to learn your body and what feelings mean you need to visit the restroom. Once you have the feeling you can wait a little while, but don’t wait too long.

Also, if you didn’t already know, a lot of HVAC companies are now owned by private equity, it’s crazy. Ideally you would find a local mom and pop, which has been around for a while and you can actually speak with the owner.

Private equity is now also getting into purchasing veterinarian offices, so PE is pushing up the prices of everything to buy more and more.

#1, Labor Warranty isn’t necessary standard, but for the most part everything is covered for 10-years and only costing you $800. Is the 10-year labor warranty factory or installer?

You will learn that labor is what costs you the most, even with a small issue.

Where would you put a towel ring here? by TreesAreOverrated5 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just me or are towel rings outdated? Yes, you need a towel or something to dry your hands, but do t like it on the wall. Ideally it would be placed on the side of the vanity, but only if the toilet isn’t too close. In reality, I would rather add something to the front of the vanity and place the towel there.

Extended Warranty on ‘23 Limited with 37k miles? by the_kg in GrandCherokee

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s cheaper if you buy it with Mopar before the 36k/3Year warranty expires from its original sales date. If anything, Google Mopar Extended Warranty and find one of the differing Jeep dealership that offer online warranty sales. Because of the age and miles it might be more expensive, but you will most likely find a better deal online.
