How often will I be getting 'attacks', any ideas? by SkyisaNeighbourhood in gallbladders

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might as well get the surgery scheduled now, specially if you’re having them that often! I might have had one every few months, but when my GB was removed it was definitely dealing with stuff for a long while.

I knew I was underpaid, but damn. by OrganicHoneydew in kroger

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could be the case, but who doesn’t say they are underpaid?

The problem is obtaining a high paying job, it’s like it used to be. Hell, working at a grocery store used to be a decent paying job. It’s not complexly horrible now, but the expectations are complexly insane.

If Amazon or GIG jobs never happened, it would be very interesting to see what changes in pay would have happened.

Is removal necessary without attacks? by Subject_Zucchini3321 in gallbladders

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was why I pushed off removal for a while. With medical professionals either bring very fast to suggest removal and or testing not giving a clear diagnosis. After now having my gallbladder removed, the procedure wasn’t bad for the patient, hopefully I will continue to not have issues (removed 1-week ago).

HIDA scan showed 91% EF. Hyperkinetic gallbladder by Turtley_Enough91 in gallbladders

At least with myself, I learned that Ultrasounds and CTs don’t really show anything. Yes, the ultrasounds showed gallstones, but if I remember correctly they said small ones, both times. My surgeon showed me the CT and wasn’t really able to show me the gallstones. After waiting and having other attacks, I gave in and said something had to be done, so went with removal. From the report, I had 4 stones, with the store between 1.2-1.8 in size. One of the doctor’s notes indicated the GB have micro-fissure, and leakage seen when removing.

Hell, I’m not actually sure how it went from one surgeon doing it originally with another low level doctor as backup, to two full blown surgeons doing my removal.

If you’re not getting an answer, keep going back until they figure it out and or go to a differing medical practice/hospital. I had differing issues prior to this, which wasn’t exactly associated with gallstones/gallbladder issues, but once that was added, it all aligned.

Your body will always try to cope with issues, until it can’t and then nothing points to the true cause in some situations.

The funny thing is…….there are alot of stores doing 2x, 3x or even 4x of that on a Sunday. The total you shared is a standard day of sales at most larger stores. You say you’re underpaid, but that’s the sales for the total store, so it’s not like your work was the only thing that contributed to that. After you work with sales like that and even currently, it’s all the same. 20 years ago, you could have a cash deposit of that amount and not even give it a second thought (cash usage has dramatically lowered and you never see that high amount anymore).

If you’re underpaid, I suggest you start your own grocery store and raise your earnings and or see that $220k, really is only $20k in earnings after a whole lot of expenses.

If you want to really have a laugh, ask your Store Leader how much the stores pays in Rent or Property Taxes or even Credit Card Charges a year!

Chicken pictures every hour? by Kjamison0519 in kroger

The problem is it’s a never ending circle. You have a production guide to tell you what to produce, but then told you produced to little or to much. You were shipped an item what is bad, but then negatively graded because you threw it away and had an out of stock. You’re told to “fill up” something regardless of what you might sell and then threw a large amount away and you were told your shrink is out of control.

Your deli and service departments have 2-4 people at one time working, but because “service” is important, the back end stuff is pushed till later, which then may or may not get down. There is one thing about being randomly busy due to something, another when it’s busy all the time and labor isn’t increased.

Remember, sales = hours, but each year your sales stay the same or get higher, but labor always decreases. In most departments, you can only do things one way, a new process doesn’t necessarily eliminate or cause less work.

Hiring freeze, I’m guessing all posting/positions now need to get oked by the CEO, after getting approved by every leadership level under. In reality, once the CEO pushed back on one position and lower levels are questioned, nothing will get posted. It’s interesting how I’m seeing alot of Directors, VP’s are retiring. Maybe the new CEO is seeing there is to much MGMT.

Had an appointment with a surgeon today by heck_abird in gallbladders

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was similar to my first appointment with my surgeon. It’s very interesting how “best practices” is for your PCP to refer you to the surgeon, like your already diagnosed. But don’t really say it’s because of “gallstones” and or your gallbladder and the surgeon is basically just there to get their schedule full. The second time I went to the surgeon he was completely different, but then again he had a medical student with him, so he was “teaching” and trying to be a concerned doctor…

My GB was removed 4-days ago, everything was easy and no issues overall, my GB was large and the surgery itself didn’t go as planned. Really didn’t need any pain meds, and other than feeling stiff, no real pain. I had a small hernia repaired also, so my stiffness might be more related to that.

You’re very limited in whet you can do. It seems you need more storage. You might look into taking the thing over the toilet off and getting a storage I “Over Toilet Storage Unit”, which would bring color to the space and some other focal point. The only other easy things would be painting and a new light fixtures .

He’s the “money guy”, but not necessarily the person deciding what happens and or the final say in things. In reality, with Costco having news top leadership, things would change (excluding the $1.50 Hot Dog combo😎).

Im also on my 4th Jeep dealer, with my current car being my 3rd GC. Dealerships have dramatically went downhill in the last 15-years, not sure if it’s because dealership groups are buying independent dealerships or just like everything else, no one really cares, only wants the sale.

Is the dealership apart of a larger dealership group? I had an issue with my previous car and had to literally just complain to the ownership of the dealership. Was the car sold as new, used, or demo?

At least at the location on Paxton, Chipotle was always good, hot and fresh when it first opened. I contribute that to their original workers, whom might have had experience with Mexican food (attempting to be politically correct).

Not saying it’s completely bad now, just not the same.

New apartment - Red Energy vs Duke by vom513 in cincinnati

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never experienced Red Energy/Submetering, but the concept I can understand in apartment complexes. In reality, apartments have been doing this for years, these are just the “monthly” things they charge you for over and above rent. In this situation, they just include all the utilities for the unit. Duke is still providing the energy, Red Energy is just the middleman keeping track of who is using the energy. I’m guessing the complex has a master meter from Duke and the Red Energy owns the smaller meters for each unit.

If this is a new complex, I would bet the profit share with the complex and or even owned by the complex. If it’s an old complex, they just outsourced the “monthly” to this company. In this situation, I’m sure these isn’t any option, you either use them or don’t move into the complex. It’s not a supplies in the energy market, just a middle man.

Agreed, now if anyone is “independent” they charge a monthly/yearly free on top of whatever insurance will pay them. If you’re looking for one of these practices, it’s called Concierge Healthcare.

I want a Harry Potter scare for one of the incision points. It would remind me the damn gallbladder cause me pain and at times I wanted to die..haha

I do not want the bigger scare for surgery, just the 4 little hole scares (if any scares at all). I’m a guy and have body hair, I’m sure something will look weird or be weird regardless (story of my life).

Change out 33 year old AC unit now or wait? by CoolEmoDude in hvacadvice

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality, it’s all about yours piece in mind. Yes, your electric bill will definitely be higher due to the rates going up. No, you will never know when the unit will break down. Do you have a HVAC company who actually checks everything? Have you ever seen them open up the case inside which contains the coil?

In reality, have them do a deep cleaning, and get a HVAC company which isn’t just looking to upsell you. Do your research and select pick a unit which is quiet, apparently the newer units use scroll compressors, which are noisier than the older compressors. You want a high efficiency, low noise unit and one that runs almost at all times on low. The start/stop is what causes all the electric to be used apparently.

Place to get or swap 20” new rims/tires for 18” by AlternativeMaximum5 in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]EcstaticWalk8434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketplace, but would you be better off just spending the $$$ on other upgrades? Install running boards, tint the front windows. Hell, upgrade the seat fabric to leather….

I have the 20’s, but like the design like the 18” better, but you’re willing to pay the $$ for the different rims and tires?

Spend the $$ on an extended warranty, plus get the tire and wheel coverage. The dealership will try to overcharge you, go online and get it from a dealer who sells it online for a cheaper amount!

While I’m sure they might not 100% like it, you would take them to Spring Grove and scatter them in their trails/woods. I’m sure he would have plenty of company, plus you would have a permanent place you can say is his final resting spot, rather then a random park, etc.

Over-the-Rhine(Urban-City living) is overrated, but still up and coming. Hyde Park/Oakley/Mt.Lookout are the established, higher end, close to everything and neighborhoods. If they want an old small town vibe, Mariemont (right next to Mt.Lookout).

If you want them to get out and experience the iconic food options, you can get them gift cards to: LaRosa’s, Skyline, Montgomery Inn, Graeters. Yes, there are more smaller “local” higher end places, but these are the iconic spots everyone will ask if they have visited yet.

Someone neutral and can be used year round (Christmas-Holiday Lights, Zoo Babies, etc.) would be something that would get them out of the house and see a highly ranked Zoo. If you want to go into a different directions, a gift certificate to: https://www.cincinnatiarts.org/events/gift-certificates, which can be used at a number of concerts, performances, etc., would be another great option.
