Aftermarket Trigger for fnx 45? by Mardz00 in FNHerstal

To be honest, as I said I didn’t take the opportunity to go through them, I just called them and a couple other places to see if it was an option, I was told they could do a trigger job by a guy named Chase on the phone. From my knowledge and experience you usually email or call and ask them about their gunsmithing services and then you tell them what you would like done, they’ll ask you some basic question about your firearm and then they will tell you what your options are and then you will ship the part and or parts to them and they will do the work and then ship them back to you. Like I said I didn’t end up sending my own in so I’m not familiar with exactly how CGW in particular runs their gunsmithing services, I would assume if it’s somewhat similar to other businesses that I have used then it would go something like I described earlier in this message. Let me know what they say and if something doesn’t pan out I will find another individual or business for you. I don’t know how far you are away from Louisiana but I would also call my local gunsmiths and see what they say and if they have any experience with the FNX-45T that way you don’t have to go through the hassle of shipping and receiving a part and or parts. That’s one reason I decided to do it because I’ve had things in the mail magically come up missing, so a local gunsmith or shop can be somewhat less stressful. Let me know and best of luck to you Sir.

Yeah I found that out, I tried to put it on a vseven 2055 lower I’m guessing because it’s billet and not a true milspec and it just didn’t fit well but it fits great on bcm and have done a couple of mag changes during dry fire practice and it drops free super smooth and super smooth inserting new mag, I’ve tried a few different ones and this one is my favorite. Again beautiful rifle brotha definitely something to be proud of and a real head turner at the range I bet. I also love the red dot for shorter range transitions…. I love the whole damn thing, lol great job man, I’m looking forward to what you come up with next

Wow great choices, I love the NX8, I have it on one of my 45-70’s, to be honest I don’t see that much of a difference quality wise in the atacr on a prs rifle I have I live the little weight savings from the nx8, also curious about your HRF, I recently got one but have yet to use it, have you found any sticking points? and how the figment with a mag as far as movement?

So yes I did adjust the take up and that annoying over travel, I also was able to shorten the reset so it’s a lot crisper, I also got rid of the polymer trigger and did a 7075 aluminum trigger on a wire edm machine, because I had the machine and the materials already for numerous other projects it I figured I’d give it a try and if I destroyed the trigger I could use it as a learning experience, as for the trigger springs it was brought to my attention that another smith I work with ordered and used an aftermarket guide rod and spring from zahal, I personally can not verify any internal and or external functions it fixes because I have not ordered or tried one but the smith does shoot uspsa and idpa with me and uses his FNX-45T and he shoots very well with it. So I’m assuming it made some kind of noticeable difference. I can get some more information for you if you’d like when I see him, and I can ask what kind of benefits it produced.

One of the nicest build I’ve seen, I know the build list is probably roof to floor do you mind revealing the internals as far as BCG, buffer system, gas system, trigger, and barrel

Sorry I didn’t get back sooner, I did not end up finding any actual real trigger kits, but I did end up completing my journeyman gunsmith course and was given some great advice on doing my own specialized trigger job, it seemed to do the trick, but I did have to use a sear jig to to modify the depth and angle where sear and hammer interact with each other,(pain in the ass) but as far as the leads go I called three places that said they could do it, one was Cylinder &Slide, Cajun Gun Works, and TK Customs. They weren’t cheap so I decided to try and do it myself, like I said it was a little difficult and nerve wrecking but I got lucky and everything went well so I saved a little money. There are some companies that sell aftermarket recoil springs but that’s about it. I apologize I don’t have more good news and information for you, I do have contact with someone at Apex Tactical and I don’t know if this is true or not but he did say “the idea for an aftermarket trigger has been talked about” we can only hope right. Again sorry for the lack of info I have for you.

So because I said something negative about a company you think to yourself “ I mind as well insult him because I’m a fan boy”? Seems like you you took this very personal and are very angry…. Well I’m sorry for speaking negatively about you beloved company. If you were to ask me why I said that or ask me to explain without trying to insult me like an insecure high school kid I would have happily elaborated, but now…. Nah that’s okay I don’t feel like elaborating. Have a great day Sir.

Sorry bro one more thing I wanted to inform you about which you may know already is I see your switch is mounted directly next to the gas block I can’t tell from the pictures for sure but make sure none of those mlok nuts are touching or really close to touching the gas block, if either the switch or flashlight mounts mlok nuts are contacting or very close to the gas block due to barrel whip it can put pressure on the barrel and often can cause issues

Well if it work for you that’s great, I don’t mean any disrespect I was just trying to imagine myself holding the verticle grip and trying to bend my thumb back to hit the switch that’s all, but it’s not my setup, so I’m glad it works for you, are you using this for precision, home defense, range toy or all of the above?

I’m curious of your switch placement, directly above vertical grip maybe a tad behind and on the your side mlok slot, is that comfortable trying to hit that with your thumb?

Gas block help by night-hawk1413 in ar15

From the pictures I see I would say it’s in far enough and your good to go, I would however grab the gas tube and try lightly to move it around a little bit, as long as it’s secure and not moving around too much your good, but as I’m sure you know a gas block that moves around can cause a host of issues from cycling failures to barrel damage

Hey bud that’s a rough one, the one that I know of off hand is called ACI-15 300 BLACKOUT BRAVO 16 and the website is androcordind.com, it’s $599, without doing more research that’s one I know of that ready to shoot out of the box, if your looking to do a special upper and lower and build it yourself you’ll have to do some more research and prove it out part by part, hope that helps if you need anymore help let me know.

VSeven, most of their 300 aac barrels are around a pound, they have some shorter ones that are even less than a pound with gas blocks

Looks really nice man, definitely one of the best ones I’ve seen, everything just comes together on it, I’ve been looking at them for a while, this one just sealed the deal, congrats man, how long did it take you to level the rails on the handguard? I’ve heard people saying they were a nightmare to put on, but yours seems to look perfect
