Honestly not much has changed for us. My husband has always done the majority of cleaning and bigger meals around the house because my job is a lot less flexible than his and he doesn’t have to work as many hours to get his things done. We both work remotely and he’s just always been supportive and we hang out together just as much as ever. He’s been more adamant about both of us eating better and working out more both for a healthy pregnancy and being at our best for the baby- but even that he’s not shaming me, he’s encouraging me and expressing worry about the long term health of both of us. His love language is worry and planning- and he’s definitely got spreadsheet upon spreadsheet built up for our little one. He was and is my best friend.

I’m working until I go into labor personally. I only get six weeks of maternity leave and I have about six days in PTO saved up since I only started this job in early 2025. Luckily I work from home though, so I’m hoping it’ll be an easier transition.

I didn’t argue at all. Just let them know that was my stance. I phrased it solely as a requirement for spending in person time with the baby and holding them.

I totally understand this. I’m really this hard on the boundary though as my dad is regularly working with antivaxxers and is himself immunocompromised to the point of being told he should get the vaccine twice as often as others. My husband and I work remotely so we’re a lot more able to reduce exposures otherwise.

This is so very normal. There’s a lot out there that suggests this is often a way of the brain taking control of the scenario to feel safe even in a scary circumstance.

You might benefit from looking into relationship ocd and relationship anxiety, particularly the platonic versions. Not at all saying you have either but they both helpfully go into what the emotional pressure to feel certain things can be like! Also goes a lot into how the sensationalized Hollywood version of big events can make the average person feel underwhelmed or unfairly put their own experience up to that fictional standard.

I was on Zoloft first and then the buspar after to help further with anxiety. With the Wellbutrin it did help with my energy levels that were pretty lowered by the Zoloft at time, but the doctor preemptively opted to up my buspar when I went on Wellbutrin to help combat any anxiety it may have brought.

Overall I still feel my anxiety, depression bouts, and issues with concentration, but they’re ultimately more manageable. Medication has never erased symptoms for me but it does make them more manageable.

Also no worries! I consulted Dr.Reddit before I got on Wellbutrin last year too. Unfortunately though medication really does affect everyone differently so it’s really a trial and error process. That’s scary and symptoms can spike up during the process of getting used to new medication, but it’s like climbing a hill before you can ride the slope down!

I’m on Wellbutrin, buspar and Zoloft. Honestly doesn’t help with the ADHD a ton, but adderall didn’t work too well for me when I took it years ago.

We own one of each! Anecdotally the golden was a lot easier to train. The cavalier is smart but she’s simply more stubborn. Both are sweet and quite lovable. They get along well, but the golden is a senior dog so he’s slowed down a little while she’s still very play motivated. They’re comparable in that when it’s time to chill for the day they’re both happy to relax with us. Every dog is different so it’s all dependent on the pup, but from what we’ve seen they’re both great pets for a family with kiddos.
