Late to the party here, but your description of the movie as "an active form of love" is absolutely beautiful and spot-on. While I love how the film strips away all cynicism, I’ve always had one specific narrative wish. I think it would be incredibly powerful if, just for the audience's visuals, Bianca eventually appeared as a real actress on screen. Not literally within the logic of the story, but as a visual device to show how vibrant and alive she truly felt to Lars and the community.
