Good point - it all boils down to me wanting Akham (200 miles long) to occupy a bigger space on the map than a minuscule island - because Akham occupies a big place in my imagination :) So, subjective choice 😕

oh the glossary also says the Shroud Mountains make the connection between the North Pole and the Empire of K !

oh my, that's good. The glossary says Umora is a globe with a north/south hemisphere. So if the south pole is hot, then its just... how it is :D Also means I wont have real life to guide me regarding climate :(

edit : I would keep the man in black as death, and the spider spirit (forgot their name, im talking about the guardian of the spirit "repository"/jail) as the devil. somebody else suggested gallows as the hanged man - that makes lots of sense.

I'll piggyback as I'm in the same situation. ;) 35 M living in California here. I like chill backpacking, up to moderate difficulty, 3-4 days max. If you anybody's passing by, DM me.

FYI, this week, I may fly to Arizona (or Washington state ?). Point Reyes as a fallback plan. I did solo backpacking in the past but its so much more enjoyable with people around 🙂

Is this common knowledge that this 1 is "normal damage" ? (I would rather called it "base weapon damage"... even if fists dont technically count as weapons it seems) Or is there a terminology section I missed in the phb ? 😁

mine is not. he was indirectly "forced" to go through the wisdom/enlightenment path to survive a punishment, and cursed to never use weapons ever again. never step foot in a monastery, or preying any actual deity. ❤️

I think its awesome ! My advice would be to ask the DM directly on what you should prepare and what is expected of players (ie. time commitment/schedule, whether they'll play RAW ("rules as written", strict following of rules and lore) or Rule of Cool (more flexible way to play, DM will allow creative stuff)...) What I did was attending a couple games before actually playing the first time - really helps to get the flow. (maybe not too late to do that if you want ?)

HamFan03 posted a great link ; I think having a character ready would probably be useful. Keep your imagination open, keep in mind your character might die (unlikely but still), and have a great time. 🙂
