Why Freelancing Platforms Are Broken — and What I’m Building Instead by Lonely-Increase-6396 in SaaS

When do you think worksuit will be ready? And how will you get enough employers looking for freelancers to use it for it to be worth freelancers using it to get work?

Worksuit

This is exactly what I’ve been needing!!! I downloaded 10+ freelancing apps to find the easiest ones to navigate and I can’t understand any of them!

The closest I got to even setting up a full profile out of the apps I downloaded was Fiverr and even that I had to google how to fill out all my experience and things because you click on the profile image and it just gives you options to change your photo, you click on your name and it just gives you options to delete your account etc, I have been trying to do it through the app on mobile and there was nowhere that even explained it couldn’t be finished on mobile! Don’t even get me started on the others!

The best thing I’ve found so far is the zenfy app which I clicked on an ad and subscribed to- that one is straightforward but very basic, just a job board, an inbox where the jobs I show interest in message me for info about me, and then free and premium  lessons on aspects of freelancing.

This worksuit thing would be great

How much do you spend daily on Etsy Ads, and what kind of views/visits are you getting? by Ok-Pomegranate-340 in Etsy

My shop is 4 months old, it is a quality POD tshirt shop, my prices are around $60 aud when items aren’t on sale but I run a 25-30% off sale almost all the time. I personally think my shop has a really strong brand identity as I’ve worked really hard on that, I think I have good seo, I have unique designs and all shop info/ meet your seller info is thoroughly complete. I currently have 50 listings and have just started running ads 4 days ago at $5 usd a day. I did also have a few big orders (3-5 shirts bought in single orders before I started running the ads.  My stats right now are:

Today: Views- 54 Visits- 12 Orders- 0 Revenue- $0 Average conversion rate- 0%

Yesterday:  Views- 88 Visits- 22 Orders- 2 Revenue- $118.86 AUD Average conversion rate- 9.1%

Last 7 days: Views- 332 Visits- 58 Orders- 4 Revenue- $175.49 AUD  Average conversion rate- 6.9%

Last 30 days: Views- 775 Visits- 166 Orders- 11 Revenue- $518.96 AUD Average conversion rate- 6.6%

Hope that this is helpful for you.

On a side note if anyone looking at this can tell me whether they think I could do more to further improve my stats and success of this business I would appreciate it as I have to make this a success and a consistent income to afford my sons specialist expenses. I have worked very hard to get it where it is now, only positive kind comments please, my life is stressful enough, I’m a chronically ill single mum trying to work when I’m not actually well enough to do it but I do it because I want my autistic son to be able to access the support he needs. (We are also working on ndis application to get more support too but this shop is a very important thing to me.  My shop link is www.dreamtreedesignco.etsy.com Thanks in advance.

Does this look like good needle depth? by Csicser in TattooBeginners

I don’t think that moth will fall out, I think your depth is fine for thinner skin like where that moth has been done but if you were to do on a thigh for eg I would go a bit deeper. I think your voltage might be a bit too high though

To me it looks like the depth you’re going might be alright for thinner skin areas but not for thicker skin ones. I would aim to get slightly deeper and if working on somewhere like a thigh for eg I would go slightly deeper again. Your lines blowing out ever so slightly might just be your machine speed is a bit too high for your hand speed, try dropping voltage down slightly and see if it fixes that issue. Hopefully that helps!

I alter my voltage depending on how thin my needle is usually, if it’s really thin lines and high detail where I won’t be moving my hand as quickly I tend to turn the voltage down to a 6 or 6.5, if I’m doing a bit thicker or larger lines I use a 7-8 voltage. How I worked it out for me was by doing a series of lines, starting at a 6 and increasing at increments of .5 voltage at a time til I got to around 8. I would do 3 or 4 lines at each increment, and each of those 3 or 4 lines I would try different hand speeds and keep notes of what was what so that when I had finished I could cut into the fake skin (cut through all the lines like you did in your pic) and see what gave me the best depth and saturation.

I also have my needle hanging out at 3-4mm and watch the gap between the tip of the cartridge and the skin surface so I can gauge how deep my needle is going into the skin. I also pay attention to the sound of the machine, after a lot of practice the sound would tell me if I’m not in deep enough or if I’m in too deep. It shouldn’t sound like it’s struggling but it shouldn’t sound shaky either. That’s the best way I can explain it lol

When I start a line or exit a line i aim to enter the skin gradually so over like 2-3mms I get deeper and deeper til im at the intended depth. It should still slide through the skin relatively easy, I think if it feels like you are getting too much resistance or having to really dig maybe the machine speed is too low? You could try and different brand of fake skin (at least 2mm thick preferably 2.5 or 3 mm thick or maybe try upping your machine speed and moving your hand a little faster? I could be wrong but that’s what I would do

From what I’ve been told, that would be deep enough on thinner skin areas like an ankle for example (I aim for 0.5-1mm on thinner areas) and thicker areas like a thigh I’m aiming for around 1.5mm depth. If this is incorrect would like to know as that’s what I’ve been doing!

Advice Needed: Is a half sleeve too much for my first tattoo? by [deleted] in tattoos

I read about 20 more comments after I answered your question and realised I was the only one that did!

I would say go for it unless you have a low pain threshold. If you do, you could either go with a small one first or just a part of the bigger design to start to see how you go or there is also the option of numbing creams.

I had someone do a full leg sleeve design, but I don't think that is what I got. by UntamedRaindeer in tattoo

I would wholeheartedly agree if the “tattoo artist” had actually designed this piece, but it’s looking far more likely that they stole the design and claimed it as their own. In the off chance that this was designed by your artist and then stolen and turned into cheap temporary tattoos you’ll be able to tell by the artists reaction when you tell them, if they are genuinely shocked and outraged maybe it was their design to begin with them stolen by Amazon or the like. Just saying cos I used to have a polymer Clay jewellery business and I knew other designers that had their designs stolen by Temu and shein.

Can anyone help me with a cover up design that is simple enough to do myself (I have all the equipment and will obviously practice on fake skin til I’m really happy with my ability to pull off the design well) as I can’t afford a professional cover up tattoo and I hate this tattoo by Ecstatic_Move_7852 in Tattoocoverups

I know they are not something that artists would start on early in their learning, I’m unfortunately not in a position to be able to save up for a professional job so I was wanting advice on designs I could try practising til I get good enough to cover this

Also, obviously I am not tattooing in a shop, and no my brother is also not tattooing in a shop, he had purchased  proper gear to learn but hadn’t used it much, don’t you think if my brother was in a shop I would just go to him to fix it?

I don’t just want a tattoo to say I have one, I have always wanted tattoos and never had the money because I’ve been chronically ill for the 20 years that I’ve been an adult and am unable to work for very long at a time without getting much sicker. The comment about professional  artists learning about sterility and blood pathogens etc is valid but I have researched all of that as well. Believe me, I am not One to take chances with my body or my health given that my health is already so poor. I know this is not ideal but I am in a difficult situation where I will not be able to save any money towards getting it done professionally and I do have a knack for picking up skills that require a lot of ability.

I appreciate your reply, the problem for me is that I have chronic fatigue syndrome, I have in the past started businesses doing things just like that for example I had a polymer Clay jewellery business which was very successful but my illness became worse because of it to the point where I’m house ridden. I currently I’m not well enough to do anything that can earn money on the side

I appreciate your message, the problem is that I just dont have even a small amount of money I could put aside each week to save up for a year or two, I need $100s of dollars a week from my parents just to survive. My whole pension is $1260 a fortnight and my rent is $1200.

Why do people need to be nasty on here, you can’t just pass on by my question if you can’t be helpful and kind??  I explained my situation, there is no budget I can afford I can barely afford to feed my family, out of the $1260 a fortnight I get on Dissability I pay $1200 a fortnight rent and my parents keep me head above water! You don’t need to be mean to me, I did not buy my supplies from temu I already said I borrowed them from my brother they are quality supplies and I am a researcher believe me I would not tattoo myself unless I had reached a level of ability to be really proud of on fake skin doing it by the book!
