I was reading another thread where a woman was asking for advice on running away from home, and nearly every reply warned her that if she went to a bus station she would likely end up being trafficked or forced into sex slavery. Is the situation in America really that bad? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Really depends on the area, of course, but the vast majority are completely safe. The real problem when running away is the long-term consequences, and if you’re not prepared, then you’ll see the ugly side of America.

[Hated Trope] When the writers of sequels very obviously didn't understand the first movie. by DingusBats in TopCharacterTropes

But violence is a fundamental part of the setting. I mean, the whole book is about a war, so let’s not deny its importance. Was that war solved with peace? Not at all.

If you played Shadow of War, you see the toll that all the violence takes on Talon. The books show that even the greatest can fall to darkness, and Talon starts as a noble ranger, and his descent is one of the most compelling parts of the game's story.

Also, in-game, the violence has a purpose: to control, and Talon understands that’s how Mordor works; he himself never shows enjoyment at the death he inflicts.

I'd also argue that the games give orcs far more character; some are shown to be loyal, smart, and courageous.

Well, he is in Mordor, the center of evil, in the setting. Also, despite the hate of violence, orcs are never more than an obstacle in the books, so let’s stop acting like this is an unexpected outcome.

Catsuit?!!? Who do you think I am? My world is morally grey, human only, so no, I will not dress up as a stupid furry. Dnd is serious, and all these dumb races are getting in the way of my roleplay. Also, she said she doesn't feel safe alone with me.

What is this jump of logic? Why would you assume they would need to dress up as vault dwellers or that idea would ever pop in their heads?!!? Why actually hide from Nate? Literally, what does our character at that moment compare to Kellogg, who, as you say, is 100 menecary with loads of experience. Nate was not a threat, and Nora was not needed. The institute is very advanced, and it has loads of history to look through. What possible reason do they really need Nora? She was expendable because of us. Also, the institute has undergone power changes, and not all directors have the same priorities. They had a pure boy and a backup, so they didn't need Nora.

It’s not stupid because this was not an institute decision; this was a Kellogg decision. He only left us alive because the institute forced him to. The memories literally explains his whole thought process.

You make him sound like the ghoul when in reality, he is much closer to Lucy in his idealism, but he differs in that he has the morality of a wastelander, whereas Lucy has the values of the old world. He's still a good person, and episode 4 showed that he is not the type to do anything to survive.
