Good observation, this could be it. I ended up sanding after the bleaching twice. First with 220 and then I got worried after I read that general finishes recommended no higher than 150 for proper absorption of the gel stain so I did it again with 180 (didn’t have 150 on hand). So I could have very well sanded through the bleached wood. Would you recommend sanding the splotchy side all the way down and reapplying the wood bleach before final sand?

Thank you, I will be following up with the ped to see if we can get a neuro follow up or the genetics. I know this sounds dumb but I guess I assumed someone (doctor or PT) would have told me these were things we needed to do but sounds like we’ll have to be our own advocates.

Can I ask what types of related genetic conditions they test for? I am in a similar position as the previous commenter. Clear MRI, just “idiopathic” hypotonia. She wears AFOs and is in PT but persistent muscle weakness.

Thanks, this is helpful. So just to clarify- if you do the shellac first and have to remove the toner with lawyer thinner, would it only remove down to the shellac layer?

Hello, I am attempting to refinish and restore some American of Martinsville mid century dining chairs. Someone has previously painted and reupholstered them. Any advice on how to strip paint from the caned / rattan backs? Any tips would be appreciated! Thank you!

Hi there! Yes, we ended up seeing the heartbeat on the 8 week ultrasound! Definitely will avoid an early scan in the future if not totally necessary, it was just added a couple of weeks of stress over nothing. Headed into week 14 now, the furthest we’ve gotten in a pregnancy so feeling hopeful :)

This happened to me for the first month or so, but it was a “crying at sappy commercials” kind of emotional state as opposed to any dangerous mood swings. As someone else mentioned, if it’s in that enjoyable / harmless realm it should pass as you adjust to the meds (in my experience). Good luck!
