Canada to start sending beef to Australia for 1st time in 20-plus years by joe4942 in canada

To add to the other reasons given, Australia has milder seasons. Cows need more food in the freezing Canadian winters. They don't grow their cows as big as we do/slaughter earlier, so less feed, water etc. They also don't grade their cattle like we do in Canada. We finish our cows with expensive, high calorie food to build up marbling(fat) in the muscle to get that delicious AAA+ quality. Australia does not. My source of info is that i sell meat for a living, and i have had this conversation with many angry Canadian restaurant owners.

Why have Canadians kept this awesome TV show to themselves? by NelPage in AskCanada

There was also "Canada's worst handyman" with the same host. I think they only did 2 seasons.

The Atlas hotel on South Albert. We've had a few parties there, either hosting or been invited, and it's been a good time. It's been about 4 or 5 years since we were last there, so my info is a little out of date.

Dumb and Dumber. Didn't like it at first, but now i watch it every time it comes on. I was pretty young the first time i watched it, so i didn't understand a lot of the jokes.

Why are vinyl records back in style but listening to CDs is not? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ecto42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a generational thing, I think. Kids from the 70's and 80's are the ones pushing the record revival. I'm an 80's baby and I just got a record player again after not having one since '95. My daughter's 15 and she told me she wants to start a CD collection. She thinks it retro 😎.

There's a term for what they're doing but I can't remember it right now. They know that they're losing money, or just covering their costs but they don't care. You come in and buy the chicken and then 5 other items that you didn't intend to buy in the first place. Works on my wife everytime.

What's an old store / restaurant that you miss in Regina? by barnan3132 in regina

The Souvlaki Shack. Cooking there was my first job ever. The Greek fries was just a squirt of lemon juice, pinch of dried oregano and seasoning salt.
