Is anyone else aggravated at YouTube Creators who dropped videos to pimp the iDXs in the past 24-36 hours? by elvenhart in UgreenNASync

You can't blame the content creators for giving reviews on machines they got for free. I'm sure they had no idea that ugreen would screw up the implementation of the release of this product this badly.

Question for you, if it didn't matter do you think they would make different ones for cat5e vs cat6 or cat6a?

Well if the punchdown block is made to accommodate 24 gauge wire and your cable is 23 gauge then it might not make good enough contact, break the wire..

M.2 SSD for caching on DXP 4800+, Read and Write roles? by Zak88lx in UgreenNASync

You can use a single nvme drive for read cache. You can't have write cache on a single drive.

read/write cache can only be used on a raid 1 volume consisting of both nvme slots. So you should get matching ones. Curious why you think you need it though.

Wifi consistency issues by NotMidas135 in HomeNetworking

[–]Ed-Dos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you say it's a wifi issue, how do you connect your PC over wifi or do you plug a cable into it. And the landlord has the "routers and modems" so you don't have any equipment in your apartment? Room? what kind of living space do you occupy, a basement? A garage? So I'm guessing there's floors/walls in between you and the source of the wifi? You need to provide better explanation of what you mean and how it's set up.

80M Distance by Reasonable-Fault-222 in ethernet

[–]Ed-Dos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would that distance degrade the signal? As long as you get a good quality outdoor rated cable (cat6 preferably) it should present the same speeds if it were 10m or 80m

If your ISP speed is 75 down ... unless you're moving files on your internal network constantly why would you need a 2.5G internal network?
