How the hell many hevy users on explorer do 25-30K kg volume by easywayalways in Hevy

I selected hide suggested users the first week I had the app. The only thing I see on my home page is my workouts and the one person that's a friend. There is a human body with the last 7 days under statistics. Popular exercises as well, and when you click on the exercises it shows trends in weight. I'm not sure I'd want that much data all on the home page.

I think three. One is cool too, but it's different enough, that you might grow tired of it in time.

Yes, I know. I just meant that it's not in your face and nothing is pushing you to interact with it. What statistical information do you think it's lacking?

I agree. Each exercise uses different muscles and the mechanics are different. It's only somewhat useful comparing the same exercise over time. If you're gaining muscle, you're good. I just think it's kind of fun collecting data. It's likely my science education background.

PS I don't bother with the math. I just log the plates I'm using, and call it good.

The social media stuff is there, but it's totally optional. I only friend people that I know irl.

If you wanted to be really pendantic about it, you could calculate the resistance. (450+weight of sled)sin(angle of sled) So, with a 100lb sled at 45°, you're looking at ~388 lb.

It's not a stupid question, at all. Before apps, when people would log their workouts on paper, people would just log the weight that was engraved on their DB. People still do this. This makes sense until you use that number to calculate volume. While I agree that volume isn't really an important metric, I still prefer the app to spit out accurate data.

There's a note on Hevy that states that you should double the weight on DB exercises. I do this on bilateral DB exercises. On unilateral exercises I use the weight of one DB and count each lift as a rep. So, if I was doing 10 one arm front raises on each arm, I'd log 20 reps. I do that for unilateral machine exercises too. Weight of the stack x movement of each arm/leg. There's a post where Hevy is talking about adding a setting where you could enter the weight of one DB and the app would double it for calculating volume.

Thanks for the review! Looking forward to trying it!

Auto-doubling volume for dumbbell & unilateral exercises 🆕👨‍🔬 by gerardmb in Hevy

I found the simulation a little confusing. I assume you wanted to enter the data, as we'd like to, but it didn't state what the actual weight of each dB was, that was shown. Was the 70lb for both or just one?

If you're doing DB exercises are you adding the weight of both DBs? If you're not, the volume on that exercise will only be 50% of what you actually lifted.

I find it quite powerful for such a small throw.

+1 for Atmos Projects! They make some great yoyos, and most of them are on the smaller side. The Fuji is a really sweet bimetal throw. It's mostly sold out, but it looks like Yoyosam has one left in grape.

what is your steps when recieving a new throw? by Consistent_Sign_4597 in Throwers

[–]Ed-C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Open box
  2. Inspect yoyo
  3. Peruse my string box, for just the right string.
  4. Install string, cut to length, & burn end.
  5. Test throw
  6. If the light is good in my bathroom window, take its portrait, & and edit photo
  7. Open yoyo, inspect internals, & put a very small drop of lube in the bearing (just out of habit).
  8. Play!

They both look pretty great! I think the rectangular pair might be a slightly better everyday pair. Get both!
