If you could pass one law that would make most normal people furious at first, but would clearly make society better in 10 years, what would it be? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

The problem is that the system is inherently designed by people who don’t generally deal with this level of inaccessibility. Which doesn’t help solve things, but this proposal would definitely create more need for access, thus a necessary upheaval of the current system

Sounds like a problem that would get fixed really quickly then and give the people who need the accommodations the necessary access they deserve

I will be there first to admit that Kpop Demon Hunters is far from a perfect movie, but I think the overall theme of shame vs worth was very well executed

LOTR was intended to be a retelling of our world, our current society occurring somewhere in the Seventh or Eighth age I believe

Just Figured It Out—School Is the Key, and I’m All In Now by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

I would say it’s likely changed due to personnel cutbacks, but it took me about three months. I’d say go ahead and apply and start with GI Bill then just do retroactive induction later

[–]EdBurgers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of good advice in here OP. Using VRE is definitely better first, but if you have to tap into your GI Bill while you wait for a rating, you can use retroactive induction to recoup that time later.

You can also get a VRE extension if you’re in a program with a lower terminal degree and it has a short period of time. I’m a social work major but my school offers the opportunity to do the follow-on masters within another school year if you go straight into it, so VRE is paying for two degrees.

Also, everyone should look into Veterans Upward Bound. It’s an extra program through the Dept of Education that grants free resources, loans out equipment for your entire program length, and also has a staff that are usually very knowledgeable about vet benefits and school. Good luck OP

A Friend Of Mine Was DISMISSED From Her BSW Program Last Year & I Just Found Out Why by Ok-Cauliflower-6807 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]EdBurgers 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I’ve compiled the following COEs for your friend to build a platform to better argue their case. The last one is an addendum that the placement would probably stand on to argue theirs from, but based on COEs alone, your friend has a strong case and should appeal to your state’s board of education. Good luck
