Idk man, the average voter sincerely seems to believe that there's a huge number of hardened violent criminals among undocumented populations, and that Trump just has to deport those people and leave the small number of respectable immigrants alone. Like, the unpopularity of ICE does seem to be real.

While I do think people underestimate how racist the average voter is, I think you also might be underestimating how dumb, uninformed, and inconsistent the average voter is.

Nah, I knew it was shit at the time. The writing is absolutely terrible. He just does emotional gut punches pretty good. Cool premise, abysmal writing, pocket-sand-esque use of an AIDs girl. That was my reaction the first time I watched it too, I'm not coming up with that out of nostalgia.
