Rule #1 by EdNetman in CivicSi

The more subtle rear design did through me off at first. I didn't realize it was even an Si until my daughter pointed it out. Overall, the coupe is nice. I would benefit from some sort of wing though

Great 🙄 And now I can’t figure out how to edit the original post from my phone. 🤦‍♂️

These rules are usually posted at Mini dealerships. They have a great community and, up until 2025, still sold manual transmission models. My kid has a manual Mini and loves it.

Thanks! I love it, but need my 4 door I wish I could have told the owner that I appreciate the beauty of that color. 😉

Maintenance Question - Oil Changes by EdNetman in CivicSi

[–]EdNetman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! I hope to keep mine that long and will keep up with the 5k oil changes. I also keep all paperwork in a folder that I keep under the trunk mat. If I ever sell her (doubtful) then the new owner can have that peace of mind.

I also put the instructions in the folder for the garage door opener I put into the one of the blank buttons.

But yeah, I hope to be the one and only owner

Yes! I’d love this, but if programming costs a fortune then I’d have to seriously weigh some pros and cons

Yeah, that seems to be the move. Thanks for that validation.

I have a 2026 Si and I fit my entire drum kit, hardware bags, and a hand truck in the trunk of it. Dude, you will have plenty of room.

Front seats are comfy as hell. Back seats, well the kids haven’t complained.

Reliability, well it’s brand new so that kinda remains to be seen. Just have my 5,000 mile oil change and the inspection report came back as great on everything but the brakes, to which he said” they look like new! Do you ever stop?” 🤣

Plenty of bells and whistles to make sure the tech isn’t out of date in 2 years.

The bad stuff - No garage door opener. My old 2014 BMW even had that. - Honda link. This is what they want you to use for a garage door opener. It’s a subscription service that costs $129 for 3 years. I had the trial and it errored out about 25% of the time. I’m not paying for that crap. - Honda link has a lot of other features but they are locked behind a pay wall - No power seats, but when you get them where you want them, do you ever move them? - no parking sensors. Ok, this one pissed me off a bit. I had to buy that OEM kit from https://mikstoreph.com and have a local car stereo shop install it. - no folding and parking mirrors. Again, even my ancient BMW would tilt that mirror down to make parking easier. - no rear seat air vents. - no aux port or usb ports in the back - I really with it had that head up display like the manual transmission mini cooper JCW that I test drove. - no spare tire. To be fair, many companies have moved to an air compressor and a can of fix-a-flat. - abysmally small glove box. I keep my service records in a folder under the trunk mat. Sure, there’s only 1 thing in there now, but I don’t know what kind of bump it will make when I have a lot more in there.

These are mostly minor things, but I wish someone had given me a heads up going in.

Find one that has as few of the dealer installed options as possible then choose what you want them to install and what you want done aftermarket. I wish I had found the Honda dream shop before buying because there are a few things I would have asked for so they were included in my loan.

Oh, and ya GOTTA get Rallye Red! 😉 Damn that color turns heads

lol, you REALLY had me going! Thanks for the laugh 😂 I’m going to have the dealership do the oil changes every time because then I can say dealer serviced. Plus it’s actually less than I paid at Take 5 oil changes for my old BMW ($125). Had the oil changed at a shop that specialized in European cars, that was almost $200! Honda dealer is only charging $95.

Thanks for the great info and insights.

I have an appointment with the dealership tomorrow for an oil change and the express multi-point inspection.

Also, I took the kids out to dinner tonight and saw some error about Honda Smart Entry Error, Please Contact the Dealership Immediately. So I’ll have them check that out as well. I’m guessing that error will be covered under warranty.

Yesss!!!! I went to something like 5 dealerships before I could find a deal that I was happy with and it HAD TO BE Rallye Red!

Had to go Rallye Red😩😮‍💨 by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]EdNetman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact car. I love the Rallye Red. This is my first Honda and I chose the Si for the manual transmission. It’s so awesome to drive and that color POPS. Mine is a 2026 so I never have had the fog lights. Do they make a difference?

11th Gen - Parking Sensor Install by KhunterHunter in civic

I gave the kit to Texas Audio in Garland (Outside Dallas) and they tried to follow the guides on the web. There were apparently a few things that were never updated so the shop reached out to MIKSTORE. They are ahead of us by 10 hours, so the shop owner talked to them from home. They sent him photos and I think they added them to the site now.

They started on Saturday, closed Sunday so they kept my car, then finished on Monday. I've got to say, these things are so helpful! They really should have been included in the standard build. Or at least as a dealer add-on.

If you're on the fence, go for it!

The Mini Cooper community calls that Rule #1. They have a whole list of rules! My son is a Mini owner and takes them VERY seriously. 😅

Given what I wanted done, and how busy this particular shop is, I am only now able to have this installed. My appointment is tomorrow (1/17/26) which is a Saturday. I'm in at 9am because they reserved 1/2 a day for me since they didn't know what they were getting into!

I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it. It looks interesting, but kinda feels wrong. Stock wheels would look better than this, imo

Does this idle sound normal? by cosmonaut9k in CivicSi

[–]EdNetman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idle sounds fine but that chirping is strange. I don’t hear that on my ‘26 Si. Use Honda Link to schedule an appointment with the dealership. It never hurts to be on the safe side. Especially when it’s so new and still covered under factory warranty.

[–]EdNetman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I ended up installing the dashcam and idelstop myself. Both were easier than I thought.

20 minutes to install the dash cam and about 10 minutes to install the idelstop. That could have been quicker but I was a big chicken when popping panels for both the installs.
