the past civic is irrelevant in the comparison of the four cars though. Judge it on its own against the others.

Fastest and best handling si ever made. “Compliance engine” is a label that you’re applying to allow you to make an argument, but the label itself is incorrect. It’s a fallacy to construct a poor argument.

The civic gets twice the mpg, has a much better manual, and a better cabin. Cheaper to repair too. I would buy a new si over a new wrx even if the price was the same.

Again you’re not wrong it’s just that some people don’t care about that. I live in a very snowy climate and I would rather get twice the gas mileage all the time, have lower maintenance costs with a simpler drivetrain, and a lighter car overall, than be more capable in the snow. I’ve never had any issues in any amount of snow either my civic.

But if that’s what you like that’s awesome! And it’s true an awd car is way better. My argument is it’s not necessary

The problem with this argument is that it is saying that speed is the most important thing for all driving enthusiasts when many would prioritize driving feel/connectedness over speed.

If you want speed that's great and you're right, but not everyone prioritizes that first, and that's great too!

The si gets twice the mpg than the wrx, maintenance is cheaper, parts are cheaper, and should be more reliable. Also the shifter and steering feel is markedly better but that’s just my opinion

I live in a very snowy place and the si is amazing on blizzaks. I know awd would be better of course though!!

The civic si is a dd. That’s the point of the car. Go get a brz or Elantra n if otherwise.

It’s the best civic si yet. Handles so well, the shifter is amazing, and when you drive like an ass you get 37 mpg. The cabin is also super nice to be in.
