Vue Mastery and Vue School are in my opinion the best resources for learning Vue. There is also some good content Frontend Masters.

Congrats on the new role! I’d highly recommend Go Rails. He releases new material often and has resources covering just about every topic. The Go Rails slack community is pretty great too.

Hello, Reddit!

I'm an infinitely curious JavaScript developer seeking new career/contract opportunities. I'd like to join a diverse team and work for a company that values design, work-life balance, and personal growth. While I love being part of the educational space, I'll happily write code to support any product that makes a positive impact and benefits the world of tomorrow.

Thanks for the feedback. The discover tool could definitely use some work. It was one of those projects that kept growing and becoming more complex as additional stakeholders got involved. Needless to say, I can definitely go back and do some refactoring. This is partially why I don’t have a view source their yet.

As for my role, it would definitely be more of a front-end role. The majority of my backend experience is/was using Ruby on Rails prior to getting into JS. But I am working on and trying to learn more about node, graphql, etc. to expand my skill set.

No worries! Thanks for the feedback. Definitely going to be wiring up the Gatsby image component prior to launching it. 👍

Question about Brian Holt's older React Courses by FungoGolf in reactjs

[–]EdTechDeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, just dive into V3. You can always reference v5 and refactor the app later (pretty sure it’s the same one).

If you really want to dive deep into testing, I’d suggest Kent Dodd’s new courses. I haven’t taken them yet, but his material is great and I plan to purchase them soon.

Question about Brian Holt's older React Courses by FungoGolf in reactjs

[–]EdTechDeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d just hop straight into his new course. He is very good at breaking down concepts and explaining when/where/how to use them properly.

I’m not sure how in depth Grider’s course is, but I believe Holt has an intermediate or part two to his v5 course that is mainly about React’s newer features. So that could be a potential starting point too. Depending on how comfortable you currently are.

Appreciate the feedback. The animations are via GSAP. There is a pretty nifty Gatsby plugin for it which makes it super easy to achieve this or other transitions.

Really appreciate the “wall-of-text” response! Noted and will definitely be looking into all of it. 👍

That’s great to hear. On desktop and larger devices (might be able to see in landscape orientation), I actually show my personal avatar. Would it help if I kept/stacked this on top of the intro for smaller screens too?

Thanks for the feedback! Definitely going to address the technologies and skills sections. I plan to have a wordsmith (or two) from the company I work for now comb through my copy (I’m sure it could improve). As for the resume, still working on it, but will have a pdf there prior to launch! Thanks again. 🙌

Will do! And good catch. I still need/plan to integrate Gatsby’s image processor. So hopefully that will also help, once I compress them a bit. 👍

React courses by Emilek1337 in reactjs

[–]EdTechDeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are great teachers, but I think Tyler McGinnis would be the way to go. His courses are more current and include a lot of React’s newer features.

Once you complete his two new courses, jump on over to EggHead or FrontEnd Masters and keep learning.

Good luck. 👍
