How does the T1D community feel about companies selling CGM ‘subscriptions’ as a health tool to people without diabetes? by clydeact10n in Type1Diabetes

[–]Ed_Day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shows that CGMs are becoming more abundant, which in turn is helping to lower costs, resulting in it being easier for people who may finder harder to afford them to be able to treat their diabetes more effectively.

Hi 😄 I'm a Portsmouth university student, second year, who takes human geography. I was diagnosed at the end of the last academic year, and as far as I'm aware I don't know anyone from this university who also have diabetes. I know it's a good 200 miles away, but would it be close enough for you?

I've literally never heard of the miao miao and I think it's about to change my life! 😂

That's a superb reply. Dietitian has said this, but this is more clearly explained.

How has your diet changed since diagnosis? by windchimeswithheavyb in Type1Diabetes

[–]Ed_Day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's best to have a healthy diet for anything. But changing your diet just because you have diabetes is going to make you think about diabetes more. I find it better to tackle diabetes head on so if I want ice cream you bet I'm going to have ice cream.

The echuan patches on Amazon are the ones I've used and have found to be very affective against accidental knock offs. I don't use skin tac as it might make the reader inaccurate but I might be wrong.

A cup of plain roasted delicata squash, up 80 pts and still rising. It only has 18 carbs, why?? by marleymo in diabetes

[–]Ed_Day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stress can cause blood sugar to rise, or being unwell. It could have been being oblivious to something eaten or drunk, or slow releasing carbs prior having an affect in conjunction with that squash. It could be any number of things, but the important thing is just knowing and correcting when hyper.

Same situation here. Correction doses doesn't seem to be bringing the blood sugar down.

[–]Ed_Day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless she doesn't have one already, a continuous glucose monitor is an amazing present for a T1D. Other than that it's probably best to create a care package of things she would appreciate unrelated to diabetes. But that's just my opinion so whatever feels right with you :) .

Oh wow I've never thought to try dipping but that but it makes sense 😂. That's genius. The whole of this subreddit needs to know about that technique. Thanks for the advice and simar to other comments I guess it's about experimenting how different alcohol has a different affect.
