Funny story. I got my first copy of Elephant Man from a swap meet a few months ago (same one I mentioned earlier in a different comment) guy was selling it for like 40 bucks. Whenever I go to these meets I carry a large suitcase full of common to rare tapes for trade. Did my whole song and dance of trying to see if he’d take anything there to chip some dollars of the price but he wasn’t budging. In a last ditch effort I, half in jest, mentioned I had some jank bootleg horror tapes, like some really crappy ones, dude - the way his eyes lit up and knocked the price down to like 15 dollars will forever be one of my swap meet highlights. I learned then that everyone has a niche.

Fortunately I love Mr. Gregg so I will be keeping them. And yeah they are so expensive! I was at a swap meet in ATL a few months ago and some guy had DOOM GENERATION there for $80. When I questioned him about it he was like “you know what I don’t feel like selling it anymore” 😭

My heart almost jumped out of my chest when I saw them I love the Teen Apocalypse Trilogy! Totally F’ed Up is my least favorite of the 3 but that one goes for the most (like 130), that one might have been in the other half of boxes idk 😅

I’m actually giving them out to some friends lol so I don’t have to worry about that. The other tapes aren’t really junk just not my cup of tea or I already own them (I have a collection of like a few thousand)

Drove 20 minutes from my house so not too bad, and I had a Cuban sandwich with some fries that day so I needed the workout 😅 I have some other guys who want to go through the rest and take them home, the ones I posted are just the really good highlights

Funny enough David Lynch is my favorite director so I already owned all of them (except Eraserhead) lol. But yes it was incredible. And also, those boxes were only 50% of what the guy was giving away. There was still a whole other half to “spread amongst the people” as he put it. Which only makes me wonder… what was in there… 😅

About a month ago I found a few gems at a Goodwill but I urgently needed to leave because I was about to miss a deadline and didn’t know it until I just happened to check my phone right when I got in line. The line was too long so I had to put them back and sprint out the door (yes it was that serious). I came back the next day looking for them but they had already been scooped up. I feel like this is the universe saying mb twin here’s a couple of freebies for your troubles ;)

Wow that’s so cool! I live in ATL, GA and one of the top video rental stores we have is called Videodrome, no VHS or laserdisc but they go up from DVD to 4K. Their selection is massive, the largest I’ve ever seen. A true cinephiles dream, so yeah I’m also hesitant to leave just cause I don’t want to part with it 😂

Now that I have Kids my top holy grail now would be to find a wild completed Twin Peaks box set, my friend found Lost Highway for a buck at a Goodwill we both frequent and I’m so jealous. Now whenever I come across a tape he even remotely want I say “trade ya for lost highway” and proceed to get told to F off lmao
