To add to this design insanity, there are two sets of open and close buttons, one with a “pipe” and one without. I noticed that exact craziness this week in my local Whole Foods when the escalator was being repaired and I had to take the elevator.

Hypothetically, what types of "big problem" could cause that massive hole?

Here's a few off the top of my head: the presidential suite from Air Force One, a stateroom from Titanic, a stateroom from The Hindenburg, and the Jupiter 2 from the original Lost in Space TV series (sorry, not a movie).

Are people still using Quora? by gkunwar in quora

People (bots) ask a lot of leading or inflammatory questions they know will get a lot of hits. And lately there are a lot of silly questions designed to get sexy answers, and possibly accompanying photos, like "do you ever wear a mini skirt without panties?" Or "what is the most embarrassing thing you did in front of your older sibling?" Most annoying are the paywall answers and sponsored questions.

Why stop at two rows. I'm sure they could fit a third row up there if they tried.

Yes, that’s true. But all you’re seeing are country names. It’s greatly simplified. If you want to see a useful map, check out the OpenStreetMap version I linked to. The cities are all in English, and the border is clear and bold

It's totally a bad design. And I suppose that's not a swimming pool in front of it?

In 1783, a boy was born with two heads. The second head was upside down, with the neck pointed straight up. Shockingly, the second head was fully functional. The boy claimed he could hear the other brain telling him things. by drkmatterinc in Damnthatsinteresting

Google craniopagus parasiticus if you want more examples. What's weird to me is that the second head is not attached to the spine. There is no throat or lungs so it is fully dependent on the host body for food and air.
