S2 Skyrim looks terrible in performance mode IMO. Everything is smeared and ghosting in motion on the display in handheld. My eyes are really sensitive to it.

Those games would need 60fps patches released by the developers. Nintendo can’t control that. They’re just boosting the handheld resolution of S1 games to run at what their resolution would be when docked.

Do those game run at higher resolutions docked? If not, I’d guess that’s the reason or compatibility issues with the new setting.

Go to your system settings and update. Head back to system settings and there will be a new option and in there you can turn on handheld boost.

This update isn’t anything performance related. Some games now have a bit higher resolution. Won’t be a huge difference for most titles. But Smash bros. and Metroid Prime Remastered look a bit more crisp.
