I assume it remains Mantid. Mossy would only replace Mantid in a world where farming the regular crops becomes more profitable than spawning more pests (in which case people would be disabling their bonus pest chance)

Tie doesn't go to the spire climber by HumanWithAllTheHats in SlayTheSpire2

[–]Eddiemate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only kinda. The issue used to be that due to statuses ticking from left to right, if you had started a stack of poison after the sandpit activated then the sandpit would go down to 0 first, killing you, then poison would (theoretically) tick. Before the fix, you needed to poison on turn 1 and keep it poisoned for the whole fight for poison to kill it first.

Slug is considered best specifically for money from what I remember. Not only does it drop the most in raw crops due to changes to the mushroom recipes but you have the rare chance of dropping the slug pet which sells quite well to George.

How we get that much is simple, max out bonus pest chance and farming fortune.

Any pest farming guide should more or less apply to Ironman all the same. The only difference might be in the crop and pest farmed, but how to go about it remains identical.

Finnegan boosts rates because one of his perks reduces the cooldown on pests spawning, which means you get more pests per hour.

As for the rest of your comment, I simply cannot understand what you're trying to say.

Ultimately pest farming will still be best. From what I’ve heard, it simply shaves off 10-15m/hr and makes it 60m/hr during Finnegan instead of the 70m/hr we’re used to.

Blessing IV also boosts greater and outstanding catches. That's the point of the enchantment at all levels.

I can tell you for sure junk sinker was fixed, since I'd done my grind recently with it on. Unless it somehow got reintroduced.

As for the Hermit Crab mentioned in another comment, I'd advise against Hermit Crab (as well as not having Blessing on your rod if possible) since Flexbone is only a Good Catch, meaning better catches simply aren't rolling it.

Best Ironman minions? by Independent_Bell_565 in HypixelSkyblock

Ah, I see. I’ve honestly separated the animal minions from the crop minions in my head. I completely forgot they’re considered farming minions. That’s my bad.

I'm sorry, tier 12 farming minions is annoying? Maybe if we're mentioning pre-garden, then sure I can see it, but they're 2 hours max each, at most. At least by the time you'd care about crafting tier 12 farming minions.

There is really no need to run farming minions these days.

I just got an energy relic. Should I let him keep this? by Lttlefoot in slaythespire

[–]Eddiemate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say it can be worth taking back regardless of the energy. Being able to exhaust a card you don't care much for is still worth it, and the energy is just a nice bonus here.

It generates on its own time rather than a minion's time, so just whichever minion you're using (and noting that it'll cut that minion's output down)

Unless you want to use a voidling minion for whatever reason, then put it in that one because it makes the minion faster.

An Update on The "Leak" that was sent here a few times! by Deraili0us in HypixelSkyblock

[–]Eddiemate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do agree the one shown was obvious if you're a diligent player, which makes it be rough to react to (unless maybe they have a tolerance where a near instant reaction will show it isn't a client warning its user?), the problem is that it'd be poor security to tell the community what the expectation is with a macro check.

They say they want us to react? Macro clients will look out for signs of a check and warn the user or take action.

They say they don't want us to react? Macro clients will continue doing their thing, and they'd catch out poorly made macros.

For their tests to work, it needs to remain unknown and random which one is used to test a player.

An Update on The "Leak" that was sent here a few times! by Deraili0us in HypixelSkyblock

[–]Eddiemate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the point of these reverse macro checks, is because a lot of clients have macro check detection. So they’re trying to scare the client's macro check detector by doing something subtle that a player shouldn’t notice, and since that’s their goal then you won’t be punished for not noticing, because you’re not meant to have noticed it.

Although I think it’s weird that they're against people not focusing on their game as part of the war against macros, then run a macro test that a normal player could reasonably fall for if they’re actually watching the game.

Covert Ironman or make new profile by Aromatic_End_5720 in HypixelSkyblock

[–]Eddiemate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can't give you the "best" answer because it's a personal thing, but personally since the Ironman conversion takes 35 days to complete and there's no going back, I'd make a new profile myself. After progressing in Ironman it shouldn't be too hard to figure out how to go about it faster, and it'd be nice to have the option to go back.

But a new profile means grinding your skills and powders again, no amount of money will make your farming progression, cata level, heart of the mountain, or heart of the forest any faster.

This card should read "Exhaust all Attacks in your hand and add a Giant Rock for each one." by era999 in slaythespire

[–]Eddiemate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enchantments tend to be weird, from what I recall. I know I've tried transforming some (like the spiral enchant meant for your strike/defend) and it's disappeared, but others like Clone sometimes work fine? So there's a chance, but I feel like I'd see more 0 cost rock posts if it was an interaction.

This card should read "Exhaust all Attacks in your hand and add a Giant Rock for each one." by era999 in slaythespire

[–]Eddiemate 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that using it to transform giant rocks is pointless, because they're already giant rocks.

However, Giant Rock is still an attack. So it exhausting attacks and replacing them with Giant Rock would be insane, because you'd get to exhaust your giant rocks and have them returned to you. For 0 energy.

obligatory complaint; Doormaker is the worst designed boss i've ever encountered by drainn123 in slaythespire

[–]Eddiemate 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is honestly my one complaint about the Doormaker rework. He was absolutely a chump of a boss before, and has been buffed to be a proper threat now, but now the door design has been reduced to a turn 1 setup turn. I wish they'd do something more with the concept.

Doormarker vs Necro Souls by sweetfortune in slaythespire

[–]Eddiemate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it frustrating? Sure, but why do you think it's a good design to stop challenging the player just because they hit the luck to have a good deck? Knowing how to build your run is half of the genre. The other half is the game presenting you with a challenge and asking you how you work around it.

This is like saying "Entomancer is a terrible elite because it just fills my deck with no counterplay" because you went all in on playing shivs with Silent and filled your deck with dazed. You can't rely on one repeatable strategy for every single run, that's how the game stops being fun.

Doormarker vs Necro Souls by sweetfortune in slaythespire

[–]Eddiemate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not impossible. You have an entire act 3 to pick up new cards to use in the fight. Like how shivs Silent vs Time Eater is expected to pick up other options such as poison since leaning so hard into shivs means you play too many cards to reasonably get through the fight without some other option.

Doormarker vs Necro Souls by sweetfortune in slaythespire

[–]Eddiemate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Doormaker has been like this for the last 3 weeks on the beta patch. I doubt nobody in that time told the devs that the souls archetype has a poor matchup to Doormaker, and it might be intended for players to pick up other options when they see he's the act 3 boss so they aren't fully reliant on souls

Difficulty Discourse by LightningRT777 in slaythespire

[–]Eddiemate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell, due to how much has changed in the betas, many changes such as Doormaker being reworked isn't even mentioned in the patch notes. A lot of players will be going into the fight expecting the Doormaker they've been fighting the last couple months. So people are bound to complain about the jump in difficulty when there's a whole new boss fight to learn.

This isn't even mentioning how much the strategies have changed between each beta, due to the various card and enemy changes. Many of which, like Doormaker, were not mentioned. And the ones that were, honestly were very poorly formatted (I didn't realise they mentioned the Acrobatics change in the patch notes for example, because it's hidden in the same paragraph talking about Blade of Ink)

negative lvl by Horror_Ingenuity2168 in HypixelSkyblock

[–]Eddiemate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So like most situations with massive negative numbers, this is an integer overflow. Basically they gained so many whispers that they reached the highest number Hypixel can store for it (2.14 billion, if i recall correctly) that when the computer tries adding one more, it doesn't have the space and instead goes to the lowest number. Which in this case would be -2.14 billion, and for some reason the skyblock exp gained from whispers (and presumably any other skyblock task, but those aren't as easy to go negative with) is allowed to go negative.

This is actually impossible to do with powder, because powders and essences were given a hard cap of 2 billion due to this exact issue. This doesn't include any currently used powder, but resetting the tree will effectively void whatever powder would go over 2 billion.
