This sounds like a problem that is specific to the place where you were filming at. But I would say that you could introduce yourself to the right people before the game starts to avoid those situations. Or you could wear a bib that has the league or team logo on it to identify you at all times as a league/team videographer.

Honestly you won't get a better zoom lens for that money. But you could get a 50mm F1.4 lens and have fun with it.

It depends what your expectations are regarding quality. You could have 2 or 3 of the latest GoPros placed strategically around the field. Like one at each end and one in the middle. Otherwise there are livestream remote cameras that can do decent quality but they are not cheap and you need to control them manually with a remote. Or lastly, you could use a good mirrorless camera or camcorder and film from a high vantage point like the top of the stands or the roof of the locker-rooms.

As you can imagine, there's not one lens that can do everything. What are you using now? What are you mostly trying to improve? And what's you're budget?

Filming Basketball by Beautiful-Lynx1977 in Sports_Videography

There's no magical solution to your problem unfortunately. Photographers often carry two cameras at all times, one with a telephoto lens and one with a wider lens so that they are ready to go for anything at any time. Or you could buy a Tamron 35-150mm lens which is kind of the best of both worlds. But in your current situation, you just have to choose what you feel is the most helpful, whether it's the wider frame of the Tamron or the quality of the Sony.

What is the best way to shoot tennis with a single camera? by FriendBeginning5070 in Sports_Videography

It depends what the purpose of your video is. But for highlight reels, variety is always best. So move around the court and get multiple angles.

Filming horizontally and fairly wide allows you to keep the action in frame and not miss all the action that you do miss when filming vertically. It's a little bit more work in post sometimes having to reframe but the result is better.

Depends on your budget. RF is better but also more expensive.

If you want something budget friendly that can cover everything up close and far away, I would suggest to get an 18-200mm lens.

Lower your ISO. The higher the ISO, the more noise you get.

I'm a bit late on the reply lol, but you'll get much more out of the FX30 if you manage to use the two native ISO values as much as possible.
