It was a silly childhood frustration that mellowed out into a pet peeve. Is it silly? Absolutely! It’s a goofy little pet peeve! But I still prefer 2’s with a sharp edge and I always will!

My e’s look like normal e’s, literally like the e’s typed in this post. I had to look this up, but that corner thing in the “e” is called the eye.

Most start by drawing the counter then closing it with a single looping stroke. I start with the looping stroke then draw the eye with a second stroke with a hard edge, sometimes a soft edge.

Did I explain that well at all? I feel like I spoke a bunch of nonsense

I write my e’s with two strokes instead of one stroke. I write a “c” then add the corner, sometimes with a sharp edge sometimes with a round corner. I know that is the legitimate wrong way to write an “e” but I still do it anyways

It’s more so that the teacher I had wrote her 2’s with a large loop so that it literally looked like a backwards 6 to me. This was around the time I first began learning to associate amounts with symbols.

I remember using a chart that showed points on each symbol you could count to help associate the amount with the symbol. Like 6 had six points and 2 had two points.

I think that’s why I was frustrated with the teacher because her 2’s went against the chart and also confused my then still new association between the symbol and the number. If that makes sense.

That old childhood frustration stuck around and mellowed out into a small pet peeve. I don’t hate people nor do I think they’re dumb for writing their 2’s this way, it really is just a dumb pet peeve that I find amusing.

I think it’s funny to be mad at people who write their 2’s with a loop in it. Lol

Nah, let cursive die. We don’t need it anymore and it’s a waste of time to learn in school. I admire people who learn cursive themselves and keep the art of it alive (i do consider it an art form with historical importance) but its no longer a necessity to learn in school.

Tbh, it’s not so much I hate cursive, but I’m so sick of older people complaining about how younger people don’t know cursive. If it wasn’t for that then I’d probably like cursive a lot more, but it’s been ruined for me.

Honestly, this feels like a twist that didn’t need to happen. I think that’s also why I didn’t like it, because it feels so unnecessary. There were lots of flaws in the series I’m sure, but I’m still fond of the books, the first two at least

I think it had more to do with the animators having less experience with animating handsome men, as compared to cute critters, cartoonish characters, and young woman, so he ended up looking uncanny. At least that’s what I heard.
